Sweaty Handshake
''Sweaty Handshake'' was the debut compilation album by Irish rock band Pet Lamb. It was released 27 January 1995 through Roadrunner Records. It is a compilation of two EPs released through Dublin based indie label Blunt Records – ''Paranoid from the Neck Down'' released 1 March 1993, and ''Spent'' released 5 January 1994.'Blunt Records Discography' – The Funny Farm, Dec 1997 Two additional tracks recorded in 1994, 'All Time Low' and 'I Got Played', as well as additional instrumental segues at the end of tracks 6 and 12, are only available on this release. 'Drop It' from the ''Paranoid from the Neck Down'' EP, and all tracks from the ''Spent'' EP, were remixed for this album. The spoken sample at the end of 'Never Rest Again' fades out on this release. The album was released on LP, CD and Cassette. Pet Lamb
Pet Lamb were a Dublin-based rock band formed in 1991. They released two albums before splitting in 2000. History The band's initial line-up was Brian Mooney (vocals, guitar), Dylan Philips (vocals, guitar), Kevin Talbot (bass guitar), and James Lillis (drums).Larkin, Colin (1995) ''The Guinness Encyclopedia of Popular Music'', Guinness Publishing, , p. 3232 Irish independent record label Blunt Records released two EP's, ''Paranoid From The Neck Down'' (1993) and ''Spent'' (1994). Influenced by The Jesus Lizard and Butthole Surfers, they played support slots for Therapy?, Nomeansno, Babes In Toyland. In February 1994 they recorded their first Peel session for BBC Radio. This brought interest from Roadrunner Records, who signed them, releasing the single "Black Mask" in late 1994, before combining the tracks from the Blunt EPs for the ''Sweaty Handshake'' LP. Roadrunner Records is an American record label focused on heavy metal and hard rock bands. Founded in the Netherlands in 1980, it is now a division of Warner Music Group and is based in New York City. History The label was launched in 1980 in the Netherlands. Roadrunner's initial business was importing North American metal-band recordings into Europe. Alex Chilton
William Alexander Chilton (December 28, 1950 – March 17, 2010) was an American singer-songwriter, guitarist, and record producer best known as the lead singer of the Box Tops and Big Star. Chilton's early commercial success in the 1960s as a teen vocalist for the Box Tops was never repeated in later years with Big Star and in his subsequent indie music solo career on small labels, but he drew an intense following among indie and alternative rock musicians.
