Bill Sveinson
William Martin Sveinson (July 7, 1946 – December 17, 2020) was a Canadian professional poker player and politician. Sveinson served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) in Saskatchewan. He was first elected under the Conservatives in 1982 and represented the riding of Regina North West. Sveinson crossed the floor in 1983 and was, for a time, the only Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for the Saskatchewan Liberal Party, but he was ousted from the party in 1985 as a result of apparent disagreements between Sveinson and Ralph Goodale (then leader of the Saskatchewan Liberal party) over legislative questioning tactics. Oral questions during question period were a tactic used by opposition members to question the government. An oversight allowed Sveinson to continue with his oral questioning preventing an orderly closure to question period thus stopping the business of the house. Ben Sveinson
Ben Sveinson (born August 4, 1945) is a politician in Manitoba, Canada. He served as a member of the Manitoba legislature from 1990 to 1999 as a Progressive Conservative. The son of August Sveinson and Mary Gibson, he was born in Spearhill, Manitoba. He attended secondary school in Moosehorn, and did not attend university. He subsequently worked as a federal meat inspector, and operated businesses in towing, security and TV antenna installation. In 1967, Sveinson married Millie Prokopich. Sveinson was elected as a school trustee in Seine River in 1986, and re-elected in 1989. He was elected to the Manitoba legislature in the general election of 1990, beating his nearest opponent by about 1000 votes in the rural southeastern riding of La Verendrye. Sveinson was re-elected in the 1995 election by about 2000 votes over his nearest opponent. He was never appointed to cabinet, though he did serve as Deputy Chair of Committees for a time. Danny Sveinson
Danny Sveinson (born 4 May 1991 in Mount Barker, South Australia), is a Canadian guitarist. He was the subject of the 2006 CBC documentary entitled "''The Rock and Roll Kid''". Biography He was touted as a guitar prodigy at a young age, performing as the closing act for the Telus World Ski and Snowboarding Festival. He played at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver, where he opened for Colin James. He has also made appearances on '' Breakfast Television'', ''Urban Rush'', '' The Vicky Gabereau Show'', '' The Mike Bullard Show'', as well as on MTV and YTV. He released his debut album in early 2004.
