Danny Sveinson
Danny Sveinson (born 4 May 1991 in Mount Barker, South Australia), is a Canadian guitarist. He was the subject of the 2006 CBC documentary entitled "''The Rock and Roll Kid''". Biography He was touted as a guitar prodigy at a young age, performing as the closing act for the Telus World Ski and Snowboarding Festival. He played at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver, where he opened for Colin James. He has also made appearances on '' Breakfast Television'', ''Urban Rush'', '' The Vicky Gabereau Show'', '' The Mike Bullard Show'', as well as on MTV and YTV. He released his debut album in early 2004. Danny was the subject of the front cover and feature story in the 25 November 2004 issue of'' The Georgia Straight'', a weekly entertainment paper in Vancouver, in which he was proclaimed to be "A Guitar God in Training". Mount Barker, South Australia
Mount Barker is a city in South Australia. Located approximately 33 kilometres (21 miles) from the Adelaide city centre, it is home to 16,629 residents. It is the seat of the District Council of Mount Barker, the largest town in the Adelaide Hills, as well as one of the fastest-growing areas in the state. Mount Barker lies at the base of a local eponymous peak called the Mount Barker summit. It is 50 kilometres from the Murray River. Mount Barker was traditionally a farming area; many of the lots just outside the town area are farming lots, although some of them have been replaced with new subdivisions in recent times. ''The Mike Bullard Show'' was a Canadian late-night talk show which aired weeknights at 12:05 AM on Global from November 24, 2003 to March 11, 2004. The show was hosted by comedian Mike Bullard and taped at the Global Theatre in Toronto, Ontario. The show's executive producers were David Asper, and, from December onward, Dave Rosen. The short lived show maintained almost exactly the same format as Bullard's previous successful show, ''Open Mike with Mike Bullard'', which had ended its six-year run only five months earlier. Despite this, ''The Mike Bullard Show'' was a ratings disaster. Heavy Blues
Heavy metal (or simply metal) is a genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom and United States. With roots in blues rock, psychedelic rock and acid rock, heavy metal bands developed a thick, monumental sound characterized by distorted guitars, extended guitar solos, emphatic beats and loudness. April Wine
April Wine is a Canadian rock band formed in 1969 and based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Led by singer-guitarist-songwriter Myles Goodwin since its inception, April Wine's first success came with its second album, '' On Record'' (1972), which reached the top 40 in Canada and yielded two hit singles: "Bad Side of the Moon", a top 20 hit in Canada; and "You Could Have Been a Lady", a number 2 song in Canada. Jeff Martin (Canadian Musician)
Jeffrey Scott Martin ( Brill; born October 2, 1969) is a Canadian guitarist and singer, best known for fronting the rock band The Tea Party. He began his career as a solo artist in 2005, when The Tea Party went on hiatus. Biography Early years Martin began playing guitar as a child and in his adolescence played in bands The Shadows, Modern Movement, and The Stickmen. In 1988, Jeff graduated from Sandwich Secondary School along with future Tea Party bandmates Jeff Burrows and Stuart Chatwood. He went on to study music at the University of Windsor before leaving his studies prematurely due to philosophical differences with his music professor. YTV (TV Channel)
YTV is a Canadian English language specialty channel owned by YTV Canada, Inc., a subsidiary of Corus Entertainment. The channel and its programming is targeted at children and young teenagers; its name was originally thought to be an abbreviation for "Youth Television", though the channel's website has denied this. The channel was launched on September 1, 1988 by owners Rogers Media and CUC Broadcasting upon launch.
