Kings Sutton Railway Station
Kings Sutton railway station serves the village of King's Sutton in Northamptonshire, England. It is also one of the nearest railway stations to the town of Brackley. The station is managed by Chiltern Railways, who provide most of the services, including from London Paddington and Marylebone to Oxford and Banbury. History The Great Western Railway built the — section of the Oxford and Rugby Railway between 1845 and 1850. However, the GWR did not open a station at King's Sutton until 1872. By 1881 the arrival of the Banbury and Cheltenham Direct Railway ''via'' had made King's Sutton a junction. British Railways withdrew passenger services between King's Sutton and Chipping Norton in 1951 and closed the B&CDR line to freight traffic in 1964. The station was reduced to an unstaffed halt from 2 November 1964. BR removed King's Sutton station footbridge in the 1960s and replaced it with a signal-controlled barrow crossing at the North end of the platform. An incident in early ... Sutton Parkway railway station serves the town of Sutton-in-Ashfield in Nottinghamshire, England. The station is about south of the location of the former Sutton Junction station and north of Nottingham on the Robin Hood Line. Services All services at Sutton Parkway are operated by East Midlands Railway. During the weekday off-peak and on Saturdays, the station is generally served by an hourly service northbound to and southbound to . During the peak hours, the station is also served by an additional two trains per day between Nottingham and . Sutton railway station ( ga, Cill Fhionntáin) is a railway station in Fingal, Ireland that serves the village and district of Sutton, and is also accessible from Baldoyle. West Sutton railway station is in the London Borough of Sutton in South London, England. The station is served by Thameslink trains on the Sutton Loop Line. It is in Travelcard Zone 5. It is close to Gander Green Lane, the home ground of Sutton United. History Parliamentary approval for a line from Wimbledon to Sutton had been obtained by the Wimbledon and Sutton Railway (W&SR) in 1910 but work had been delayed by World War I. From the W&SR's inception, the District Railway (DR) was a shareholder of the company and had rights to run trains over the line when built. In the 1920s, the Underground Electric Railways Company of London (UERL, precursor of London Underground) planned, through its ownership of the DR, to use part of the route for an extension of the City and South London Railway (C&SLR, now the Northern line) to Sutton. Sutton Staithe Halt was a railway station on the Midland and Great Northern Joint Railway which was opened in 1933 to serve the holidaymakers visiting the Norfolk Broads in the vicinity of the village of Sutton. History The station was opened by the Midland and Great Northern Joint Railway in 1933 to serve the increasing numbers of holidaymakers who were visiting the Norfolk Broads and coastal beaches within reach of the village of Sutton. Little Sutton Railway Station
Little Sutton railway station serves the village of Little Sutton, near Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, England. It is situated on the Hooton–Helsby line and is served by the ''Wirral Line'' which is part of the Merseyrail network. The station is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building. The station opened in 1863 as "Sutton" and was renamed Little Sutton in 1886. It became part of the Merseyrail network in 1994, when the branch from Hooton to Ellesmere Port was electrified by British Rail, and through train services to Liverpool via Birkenhead commenced. Between the 2013/14 and 2019/20 periods, Little Sutton was the least-used station on the Merseyrail network. Since 2020/21 it is the second least-used station on the network. Sutton-on-Sea railway station was a station in Sutton-on-Sea, Lincolnshire Lincolnshire (abbreviated Lincs.) is a county in the East Midlands of England, with a long coastline on the North Sea to the east. It borders Norfolk to the south-east, Cambridgeshire to the south, Rutland to the south-west, Leicestershire .... It opened on 4 October 1886 and was a temporary terminus of a branch line from Willoughby. Two years later the line was extended to Mablethorpe.
