Susan Mogul
Susan Mogul (born 1949) is an American artist primarily known for her work in video art. She also works in photography, installation art, and performance art. Originally from New York City, she currently lives and works in Los Angeles, CA. Education and early career Mogul received her B.F.A. from Tufts University and Boston Museum School of Fine Arts in 1972, and later received her M.F.A. from the University of California at San Diego in 1980. In between this time, she studied at CalArts under Judy Chicago within the Feminist Studio Workshop, a radical feminist art program led by Chicago herself. It was here that Mogul first began exploring topics of female identity, sexuality, and feminism. During her time at the Feminist Studio Workshop, she produced the video piece, "Take Off", in which she masturbates using her vibrator under a table. Judy Chicago (born Judith Sylvia Cohen; July 20, 1939) is an American feminist artist, art educator, and writer known for her large collaborative art installation pieces about birth and creation images, which examine the role of women in history and culture. Vito Acconci
