"Survivin'" is a song by English indie pop band Bastille. It was released on 22 September 2020 as the second single from their EP, ''Goosebumps''. The song was written by Dan Priddy, Dan Smith, Mark Crew and Phil Plested. Background Talking about the song, Smith said, "There'd been times when I felt like I'd been in a washing machine and on a conveyor belt at the same time, but when people asked me how I was doing, the answer was always the British cliché: 'Yep, all good, fine'. At the start of lockdown I felt very self-conscious about having written a song that felt relevant when it wasn't intended to be, but then I also think 2020 is the year we all stopped pretending everything's fine." Bastille (sometimes stylised as BΔSTILLE) are an English pop rock band formed in 2010. The group began as a solo project by lead vocalist Dan Smith, but later expanded to include keyboardist Kyle Simmons, bassist and guitarist Will Farquarson and drummer Chris "Woody" Wood. After an independently released debut single and a self-released EP, the band signed to Virgin Records. Philip Plested is an English singer and songwriter. He has co-written songs for artists including Lewis Capaldi, the Vamps, Little Mix, Kygo, James Arthur, Anne-Marie, and Bastille. Early life and career Plested was born in Watford, Hertfordshire, UK. He studied at Central Saint Martins in London. After leaving school in 2012, he formed a band, Chasing Grace, with his school friends. The band released their debut album ''Nowhere Near Old Enough'' in 2015, and were active until 2016.
