Sursoptok Underpass ( bn, সুরসপ্তক আন্ডারপাস) is a pedestrian underpass located in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is one of four underpasses in Dhaka. The underpass with 15 meter high, 135 meters long, 5 meters, four 42 meter long tunnels is currently the largest underpass in Bangladesh. Prior to its construction, Gulistan underpass was the largest underpass in the country. Airport Road, Dhaka
Airport Road ( bn, বিমানবন্দর সড়ক), also known as Tongi Diversion Road, a part of the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway (N3), is an 8-lane major artery road in Dhaka, that connects Dhaka city, with the Shahjalal International Airport. It is also the main artery that connects Dhaka with the northern suburb of Uttara and the only road that connects Dhaka with northern Districts of Bangladesh and vice versa. Traffic is fairly smooth throughout the road, due to flyovers and interchanges. Facilities Built as a highway to facilitate movement with northern districts of Bangladesh. 2018 Bangladesh Road-safety Protests
A series of public protests in Bangladesh advocating improved road safety were held from 29 July to 8 August 2018. They were sparked by the deaths of two high-school students in Dhaka struck by a bus operated by an unlicensed driver who was racing to collect passengers. The incident impelled students to demand safer roads and stricter traffic laws, and the demonstrations rapidly spread throughout Bangladesh. The protests were peaceful until 2 August, when police attempted to disperse the demonstrators with tear gas and people believed to be members of a pro-government youth league attacked protesters and journalists. Bir Sreshtho
The Bir Sreshtho ( bn, বীরশ্রেষ্ঠ; ), is the highest military award of Bangladesh. It was awarded to seven freedom fighters who showed utmost bravery and died in action for their nation. They are considered martyrs. The other three gallantry awards are named, in decreasing order of importance, Bir Uttom, Bir Bikrom and Bir Protik. All of these awards were introduced immediately after the Liberation War in 1971.
