Suriname International
The Suriname International Badminton Tournament is a Pan American Circuit badminton event first held inaugural in 1998 at the Anthony Nesty Indoor Stadium in Paramaribo, Suriname. The Suriname International Badminton Tournament is now held annually in Paramaribo since 2008, and is hosted by the Surinamese Badminton Association ( SBB) also sanctioned by the Badminton World Federation (BWF) and the Badminton Pan America The Badminton Pan Am (BPA) organisation is the governing body for the sport of badminton in the Americas and is recognized as such by the Badminton World Federation - BWF. Badminton
Badminton is a racquet sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net. Although it may be played with larger teams, the most common forms of the game are "singles" (with one player per side) and "doubles" (with two players per side). Badminton is often played as a casual outdoor activity in a yard or on a beach; formal games are played on a rectangular indoor court. Points are scored by striking the shuttlecock with the racquet and landing it within the opposing side's half of the court. Each side may only strike the shuttlecock once before it passes over the net. Play ends once the shuttlecock has struck the floor or if a fault has been called by the umpire, service judge, or (in their absence) the opposing side. The shuttlecock is a feathered or (in informal matches) plastic projectile which flies differently from the balls used in many other sports. Lianne Tan
Lianne Tan (born 20 November 1990) is a Belgian badminton player. She competed for Belgium at the 2012 London, 2016 Rio, and at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. She was selected to participate in the 2012 Summer Olympics, together with her brother Yuhan. In 2015, she won the silver medal in the European Games in Baku, Azerbaijan. Personal life Tan's father, Hank Tan, is Indonesian Chinese, while her mother, Maria Meyers, is Belgian (Flemish), and a native of Bilzen. Her parents met when her father came to Belgium to study dentistry. Jada Renales
Jada Renales (born 27 December 1998) is a Trinidadian badminton player. Renales is coached by her father, Derwin Renales, a former national badminton player. She was the national under-19 champion for three consecutive years. At the 2012-2016 Carebaco Junior International tournament, she was 6 times in the second place and 5 times in third place. In 2014, she represented her country competed at the Veracruz Central American and Caribbean Games. In 2017, she won double title at the Solo Open Championships. She clinched the women's and mixed doubles title, and also place second in the singles event. Dakeil Jonathan Thorpe (born 12 September 1989) is a Barbadian badminton player. Thorpe competed at the 2010, 2014, and 2018 Commonwealth Games. He also represented his country at the 2015 and 2019 Pan American Games. He was the men's doubles champion at the 2018 Carebaco International with Shae Michael Martin and at the 2016 Suriname International tournament partnered with Cory Fanus. Solángel Guzmán
Solángel Guzmán Pérez (born 21 December 1984) is a Cuban female badminton player, and now represented Trinidad and Tobago. Guzman was a top badminton player in Cuba, where she became a Pan Am Games doubles quarter-finalist, a CAC singles champion and also medalled at the Peru Open, as well as tournaments in Brazil, Venezuela and Dominican Republic. Misha Zilberman
Misha Zilberman ( he, מישה זילברמן, russian: Миша Зильберман; born 30 January 1989) is an Israeli badminton player. He competed for Israel at the 2012, 2016, and 2020 Summer Olympics. He also won a bronze medal at the 2022 European Badminton Championships, and represented Israel at the 2015 and 2019 European Games. Zilberman is the first Israeli player to win a medal at the European Badminton Championships. Early and personal life Zilberman was born in Moscow, Soviet Russia. Taymara Oropesa Pupo (born 6 December 1995) is a Cuban badminton player. Career Oropeza started playing badminton at aged 14. She actually playing tennis since she was eight. She made the change because her mother asked her to find another sport where she was less exposed to the sun.
