Solar Bears were an electronic music duo from Ireland, composed of John Kowalski and Rian Trench. Solar Bears' members hail from Dublin and Wicklow. The band's name was taken from the film ''Solaris'' by Andrei Tarkovsky. After releasing a vinyl-only EP, the band issued its debut full-length, ''She Was Coloured In'', late in 2010. In October 2016, the band announced their breakup via a statement to electronic music site Thump. Beth Hirsch (born October 18, 1967) is a singer-songwriter from Tampa, Florida. Hirsch is best known for her collaboration with Air on their album '' Moon Safari''. Her first solo album, '' Early Days'', was released in 2000, followed by ''Titles & Idols'' in 2001. After a series of collaborations with artists including Pale 3, Jakatta, and D*Note, Hirsch released her third solo album ''Wholehearted'', in 2007, and her fourth solo album, ''L.I.F.E.'', on October 26, 2020. Keep Shelly in Athens are a Greek chillwave duo from Athens. They formed in 2010, and were quickly signed to the vinyl imprint label of independent music blog Gorilla vs. Bear, Forest Family Records. In November of that year, they released their debut 12" EP, ''In Love with Dusk'', which quickly sold out due to much internet hype. They are currently signed to Cascine Records, who released their debut full-length album in 2013. History The group was formed sometime in 2010 when a producer known only as RΠЯ started seeking out someone with whom to perform newly written songs. Through a mutual friend, Sarah P. was introduced to RΠЯ, and they soon began to perform together. The band name was conceived as a pun on Kypseli, a neighbourhood of Athens. It launched in April 2008 and switched to online-only distribution in January 2009 after having published a total of ten issues. The magazine continued online until 2020, when that year's edition of its ''Faces'' series prominently mentioned the website having seized publication. It enjoyed a good run and was voted Best Music Site in 2008 and Best Web Publication in 2010 in the Irish Web Awards.
