''Supermarket'' is the only soundtrack album by American rapper Logic. It was released on March 26, 2019, by Def Jam Recordings and Visionary Music Group. The soundtrack serves as a tie-in for the novel of the same name. The soundtrack was released to negative reviews by music critics, and it peaked at number 56 on the ''Billboard'' 200. Promotion The release date was announced on January 10, 2019. Reception The album received generally negative reviews. Danny Schwartz, writing for ''Rolling Stone'', characterized ''Supermarket'' as "uniquely bad", "bold yet bland" and a "suite of vapid love songs". Sir Robert Bryson Hall II (born January 22, 1990), known professionally as Logic, is an American rapper and record producer. He has released seven studio albums and received two Grammy Award nominations. ''Pitchfork'' (formerly ''Pitchfork Media'') is an American online music publication (currently owned by Condé Nast) that was launched in 1995 by writer Ryan Schreiber as an independent music blog. Schreiber started Pitchfork while working at a record store in suburban Minneapolis, and the website earned a reputation for its extensive coverage of indie rock music. It has since expanded and covers all kinds of music, including pop. Pitchfork was sold to Condé Nast in 2015, although Schreiber remained its editor-in-chief until he left the website in 2019. "Just a Friend" is a song written, produced and performed by American hip hop artist Biz Markie. It was released in September 1989 as the lead single from his album, ''The Biz Never Sleeps''. It is Markie's most successful single, reaching number 9 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 in 1990. "Can I Kick It?" is a 1990 song by American hip hop group A Tribe Called Quest, released as the third single from their debut album, ''People's Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm'' (1990). The song, which has a call and response chorus, was recorded in 1989, when the band members were aged 18-19. The song contains samples of " Walk on the Wild Side" by Lou Reed, " What a Waste" by Ian Dury and the Blockheads, "Spinning Wheel" by Dr. Lonnie Smith, " Dance of the Knights" by Sergei Prokofiev and "Sunshower" by Dr. Buzzard's Original Savannah Band.
