Super Flying Fun Show
The ''Super Flying Fun Show'' was a live weekday morning television programme aimed at children. It was made at TCN 9 in Sydney, Australia, and shown on relay in Melbourne on GTV 9. ''Super Flying Fun Show'' replaced the original ''Today'' show that had been launched from GTV 9 in 1968 with Mike Walsh. When ''Today'' was linked with TCN 9 and the compere changed to Tony Charlton, recently recruited Victorian regional stations began to drop the show. By October 1969 the ''Today'' show had been cancelled, and a mixture of live children's entertainment and cartoons was on air between 7AM and 8:30AM and later to 9:00AM beginning in early March 1970. Original hosts were Miss Marilyn (Marilyn Mayo) and comedian Rod Hull with his puppet creation, Emu. Opening titles consisted of Rod Hull as the character Caretaker Clot (Clotty the Janitor) walking to the TCN 9 transmitter tower and flicking a big switch. ''Ginger Meggs'', Australia's most popular and longest-running comic strip, was created in the early 1920s by Jimmy Bancks. The strip follows the escapades of a red-haired prepubescent mischief-maker who lives in an inner suburban working-class household. While employed at ''The Bulletin'', Bancks submitted cartoons to the ''Sydney Sunday Sun'', where he began his ''Us Fellers'' strip in 1921 in the "Sunbeams" section of the ''Sunday Sun''. Ginger first appeared in ''Us Fellers'' on 13 November 1921, drawn by Bancks. When Bancks died on 1 July 1952 from a heart attack, Ron Vivian took over the strip (1953–1973), followed by Lloyd Piper (1973–1982), James Kemsley (1983–2007), and Jason Chatfield since 2007. ''Fredd Bear's Breakfast A-Go-Go'' was an Australian children's television show which started in 1969 on ATV Channel 0 (now ATV-10). Program synopsis ''Fredd Bear's Breakfast-A Go-Go'' ran five days a week (Monday to Friday from 7am) for three years, with a mixture of cartoons, serials, music clips, news, and entertainment, it was comparable to an early ''Hey Hey It's Saturday''. The show was hosted by Fredd Bear (Tedd Dunn), a lively non-speaking character first seen on the ''Magic Circle Club'', and Judy Banks. ''Good Morning with Rosemary'', also known as ''Good Morning!!!'', was an Australian morning variety program that aired on TEN Channel 10 (now part of Network Ten), and was broadcast in New South Wales. It was one of Australian Television's first weekday breakfast/variety programs for children. The program was produced and presented live to air by Rosemary Eather. The two-hour show featured news and live animals. ''Hey Hey It's Saturday'' was a long-running variety television program on Australian television. It initially ran for 28 years on the Nine Network from 9 October 1971 to 20 November 1999, with a recess in 1978. Its host throughout its entire run was Daryl Somers, who later also became executive producer of the program. The original producer, Gavan Disney, left the program in the 1980s and Somers then jointly formed his own production company, Somers Carroll Productions, with comedy writer and on-screen partner Ernie Carroll, the performer of Somers' pink ostrich puppet sidekick Ossie Ostrich. It was created by Mel Brooks and Buck Henry, and had its television premiere on NBC on September 18, 1965. Freddo (originally Freddy the Frog in the 1970s) is a chocolate bar brand shaped like an anthropomorphic cartoon frog.
