Suolahti
Suolahti is a former list of towns in Finland, town and List of former municipalities of Finland, municipality of Finland. It is located next to Lake Keitele in the provinces of Finland, province of Western Finland and is part of the Central Finland regions of Finland, region. Suolahti was merged into Äänekoski together with Sumiainen in 2007. History The village was initially known as Paadentaipale; the first mentions of the current name come from are from the 16th century . The opening of the railroad in 1898 industrialized Suolahti and increased the waterborne traffic on Keitele, for which Suolahti provided a railway harbour at its south end. The same year, a steam-mill started operating which was soon followed by other industrial facilities. This sped up population growth and urban development. Äänekoski () is a town in Finland. It is located in the Central Finland region, about north of Jyväskylä. The town has a population of () and covers an area of of which is water. The population density is . Neighbouring municipalities are Kannonkoski, Konnevesi, Laukaa, Saarijärvi, Uurainen, Vesanto and Viitasaari. The municipality is unilingually Finnish. The municipality of Äänekosken maalaiskunta was consolidated to Äänekoski in 1969 and the municipality of Konginkangas in 1993. Sumiainen is a former municipality of Finland. It is located in the province of Western Finland and is part of the Central Finland region. The municipality had a population of 1,293 (2003) and covered an area of 307.93 km2 of which 77.34 km2 is water. The population density was 5.6 inhabitants per km2. Sumiainen consolidated to Äänekoski together with Suolahti in 2007. The municipality was unilingually Finnish. The municipality was also known as "Sumiais" in Swedish. The Swedish name is now considered outdated according to the Institute for the Languages of Finland. The river Kuokanjoki is located to the south of the village, and is one of the world's shortest rivers. Western Finland
Western Finland ( fi, Länsi-Suomen lääni, sv, Västra Finlands län) was a province of Finland from 1997 to 2009. It bordered the provinces of Oulu, Eastern Finland and Southern Finland. It also bordered the Gulf of Bothnia towards Åland. Tampere was the largest city of the province. Borovichi (russian: Боровичи́) is the second largest town in Novgorod Oblast, Russia, located on the Msta River in the northern spurs of the Valdai Hills, east of Veliky Novgorod, the administrative center of the oblast. Jack Smack (born August 8, ? in Jyväskylä) is Finnish rock musician. He is the guitarist/background vocalist/composer in the Helsinki based hard rock band called Private Line and also in the "party band" groups Evil Boys, Thunderbombs and Trabant. Jack Smack is also known as ''Japa'', ''Captain Japa'' and ''Jack Leopard''. Jack joined in Private Line May 2002 when the founding member and guitarist Jari Huttunen left the band and joined in Finnish heavy metal act Timo Rautiainen & Trio Niskalaukaus. After a couple of years break Private Line released a new single and music video Dead Decade from their forthcoming 3rd album with the same name. List Of Towns In Finland
The following is a list of cities in Finland. In the year 1977, the legal difference between towns and municipalities was removed. Today they are all classified as municipalities, some of which are commonly referred to as cities ''(kaupunki'' in Finnish, ''stad'' in Swedish). A municipality can decide whether it calls itself a municipality or a city. but ''suurkaupunki'' (~ large town) is used for a few cities in Finland. This fits the EU's definition of a city, which has the criteria of a minimum population of 50,000 and a minimum population density of 500 inhabitants per square kilometer. A simple, independent decision in the municipal council is sufficient to call a municipality (''kunta'') a city (''kaupunki''). Keitele is a large lake located in Central Finland. With the area of 493.59 km2 it is the 9th largest lake in the country. A sister city or a twin town relationship is a form of legal or social agreement between two geographically and politically distinct localities for the purpose of promoting cultural and commercial ties. Private Line (band)
Private Line are a Finnish hard rock band from Helsinki, Finland, formed during the mid-1990s (in Jyväskylä, a city in the center of Finland) and continuing today. History Origins The band was founded in the 1990s, when the founding members, Sammy, Jari Huttunen, and Eliaz were still teenagers. They bonded through love of Hanoi Rocks and Mötley Crüe. Private Line won a local band competition and used the prize money from it to record and release their debut EP ''Smooth Motions'' in 1998.
