Proto-Germanic (abbreviated PGmc; also called Common Germanic) is the reconstructed proto-language of the Germanic branch of the Indo-European languages. Sunyer, Count Of Barcelona
Sunyer (c. 870 – 950) was count of Barcelona, Girona and Ausona from 911 to 947. Origins He was the son of Wilfred the Hairy and younger brother of the previous count of Barcelona, Wilfred II Borrel. He worked jointly with his brother in the government of the counties held by their father after his death in 897. He did not reign independently until his brother's death in 911. Family conflict However, on the death of his uncle, Count Radulf I of Besalú, in 913 or 920, a conflict emerged between Sunyer and his brother Count Miró II of Cerdanya over the succession of the County of Besalú. In exchange for the total renunciation of all claims on the County of Barcelona, Sunyer gave up his claim on Besalú. Sunyer was apparently married by 917, and later appears with wife Richilda of Toulouse, speculated to have been a daughter of the Count of Rouergue based on the introduction of novel names into the family. Sunyer I Of Pallars
Count Suñer I (also Sunyer, Suniario; died in 1010) was sovereign Count of Pallars from 948 until his death. He was also the Count of Ribagorza ''de iure uxoris'' ("by his marriage"). Biography Count Suñer was a son of the Count Lope I of Pallars and his spouse, Goltregoda of Cerdanya. He was thus a younger brother of the Count Borrell I of Pallars and the Count Raymond II of Pallars. Suñer succeeded his father and his uncle, Isarn, Count of Pallars. Suñer ruled together with his brothers, who died in 995. From 995 until his death, Suñer ruled Pallars together with his paternal nephew, Ermengol I of Pallars (the son of Borrell I). Marriages and children Suñer was first married to Ermengarda/Ermentruda, his sister-in-law (the former wife of Borrell). Joaquim Sunyer () (Sitges, 1874–1956) was a Catalan painter often linked to the Noucentisme movement. He began his artistic education with his uncle, Joaquim Mir, later moving to Barcelona where his fellow students included Joaquín Torres García, Isidro Nonell,Cowling and Mundy, p. 251. and Joaquin Mir Trinxet. In 1896 he moved to Paris, where he became acquainted with the neo-impressionist movement and worked extensively in the style. His paintings of this period include street scenes of working-class life. He also produced graphic works influenced by Toulouse-Lautrec and Théophile Steinlen that emphasize urban night life and urban poverty. He was friends with Picasso, and in the first years of the 20th century the two artists' work were similar in style and subject.
