It consists of the area between U.S. 54 in the north and Lincoln Street in the south and between Interstate 135 in the west and Hillside Street in the east. Sunnyside borders East Front to the north, College Hill to the northeast, Longview to the east, Schweiter East and Schweiter to the south, and The Hyde to the west. Linwood lies to the southwest. The Hyde, also known as Kellogg School, is a neighborhood in Wichita, Kansas, United States. It is a mixed commercial and residential area immediately southeast of Downtown Wichita on the west side of Interstate 135. History Inventor and businessman A. A. Hyde donated the land for Hyde Park in 1884. The area surrounding the park was platted as a residential neighborhood called Hydes Addition. Hyde went on to found Mentholatum in Wichita in 1889. In 1909, the company’s headquarters was built on East Douglas Avenue in the neighborhood. Several of the city’s historic buildings were constructed in The Hyde over the following decades including Willowdale, the mansion and estate of local farmer J. Hudson McKnight. College Hill is a historical, predominantly residential neighborhood in Wichita, Kansas, United States. History College Hill was platted as a series of developments during a real estate speculation boom of the 1880s. The name came from a proposed Methodist college that would have been located in the neighborhood at Douglas and Rutan, but the Methodist church instead choose to build its college, today known as Southwestern College, in Winfield, Kansas. While a few houses in the neighborhood were built prior to the turn of the century, most were built between 1900 and 1934. In December 1926, the Lincoln Heights Addition between Douglas and Kellogg and Oliver and Crestway consisting of 73 acres and 250 lots was placed on the market. Interstate 135
Interstate 135 (I-135) is an approximately auxiliary Interstate Highway in central and south-central Kansas, United States. I-135, which is signed as north–south, runs between I-35 and the Kansas Turnpike in Wichita north to I-70, U.S. Highway 40 (US-40), and US-81 in Salina. Except for the first , I-135 overlaps US-81 its entire length. The route also runs through the cities of McPherson, Newton, and Park City. The highway was designated as Interstate 35W (I-35W) until September 1976, when it was renumbered as I-135 to conform to new AASHTO policies that eliminated most suffixed Interstate Highways. It is the longest three-digit "spur", with an odd first digit, in the Interstate System until the completion of I-369 in Texas. In 2021, work began to rebuild the northern junction with I-235.
