Sundsvall Dragons was a professional Swedish basketball club from Sundsvall. The Dragons made it to the Basketligan Finals four times: in 2005, 2008 and in 2009 and 2011 as winners. History The team was one of the oldest in Sweden, as it was founded on May 9, 1939. In 1993 the team promoted to the Basketligan and was named the ''Sundsvall Dragons''. Hlynur Bæringsson
Hlynur Elías Bæringsson (born 6 July 1982) is an Icelandic professional basketball player for Stjarnan of the Úrvalsdeild karla and a member of the Icelandic national basketball team. He won the Icelandic championship in 2010 as a member of Snæfell and the Swedish championship in 2011 as a member of Sundsvall Dragons. Hlynur was a key player with the Icelandic national team when it made its first appearance in EuroBasket in 2015 and again in 2017. He is one of eight players who have played at least 120 games for the team. A prolific rebounder, he led the Úrvalsdeild karla in rebounds twice and the Basketligan once. In 2019, he became the Úrvalsdeild karla all-time career rebounding leader. Alex Wesby
Alex Wesby (born July 5, 1980) is an American retired basketball player from Philadelphia. He played for Temple in college and played as a professional player in multiple countries in Europe. Career In the 2010–11 season, Wesby played in Sweden for Sundsvall Dragons. He won the Most Valuable Player award of the Swedish League, as well as the award for the Best Defender. Wesby signed with GasTerra Flames from Groningen, Netherlands for the 2011–12 season. He reached the semifinals with Groningen and was named to the All-DBL Team. He returned to the Sundsvall Dragons for his fourth stand with the club for the 2012–13 season. He signed till 2015. Svenska Basketligan, or the Swedish Basketball League (SBL), is the premier league for professional basketball in Sweden. The league was originally established in 1992 as Basketligan and was known as that prior to the season of 2006–07, but when the Swedish company Obol Investment signed an agreement with the Swedish Basketball Federation in early October 2006, the league was renamed Obol Basketball League (OBL). Raymond "Ray" Willis Jr. (born September 13, 1989) is an American former professional basketball player. He played college basketball for the University of Oklahoma and North Carolina Central University before playing professionally in Israel, Finland, Australia and Sweden. Liam Rush (born 29 January 1982) is an Australian former professional basketball player who spent the majority of his 15-year career playing in the Australian National Basketball League and Swedish Basketligan. Ragnar Nathanaelsson
Ragnar Ágúst Nathanaelsson (born 27 August 1991) is an Icelandic basketball player who plays for Hamar of the Icelandic 1. deild karla. He participated at EuroBasket 2015 as a member of the Icelandic national team. He is a two time Úrvalsdeild Domestic All-First team selection and won the Icelandic Basketball Cup in 2022. Pavel Ermolinskij
Pavel Ermolinskij (born 25 January 1987) is an Icelandic basketball coach and former player of Ukrainian descent, a member of the Icelandic national team. He has won the Icelandic championship with KR seven times, in 2011 and 2014–2019. He played in the Spanish Liga ACB for several seasons, winning the Spanish King's Cup in 2005.
