Sunday River (Osgood River Tributary)
The Sunday River (''in French: rivière Sunday'') is a tributary of the Osgood River, whose course flows successively into the Palmer River and Bécancour River; the latter being in turn a tributary of the south shore of the St. Lawrence River. The term regional county municipality or RCM (''french: municipalité régionale de comté, MRC'') is used in Quebec, Canada to refer to one of 87 county-like political entities. In some older English translations they were called county regional municipality. Les Appalaches ( ''Municipalité régionale de comté des Appalaches'') is a regional county municipality (RCM) in the Chaudière-Appalaches region in southeastern Quebec, Canada. It was established in 1982 from parts of the historic counties of Beauce, Frontenac, Mégantic, and Wolfe. The county seat and largest city is Thetford Mines. The name of the RCM is linked to its location in the Appalachian Mountains with Mounts Adstock, Caribou, Oak, and Saint-Adrien being the highest. Bécancour River
The Bécancour River is a river flowing in the administrative region of Centre-du-Québec, in Quebec, Canada. Geography The Bécancour takes its source from the lake of the same name in the town of Thetford Mines, in the Chaudière-Appalaches region. It flows west into William Lake at Saint-Ferdinand, changes course northwards towards Inverness, turning westward there and continuing to flow west across the Centre-du-Québec region for most of its length. Chemin Craig
Craig Road was a road created in the early 19th century on the order of James Henry Craig, Governor of British North America. It was intended to connect Quebec City with the United States and to promote settlement of the Eastern Townships. History At the turn of the 19th century, in Lower Canada, nearly all of the population lived in communities along the St. Lawrence River. The land between the river and the US border had been surveyed and was ready for settlement.
