Sun Theory (band)
Sun Theory are an Australian rock-country band which formed in 2000 as Cow. They released three albums as Cow and, since 2011, two more as Sun Theory. The group is composed of Michael Boundy on bass guitar, Sam Carpenter on drums, Richard Coldwell and Anthony Scott on guitars, and Glyn Lehmann on keyboards. History Sun Theory were formed in 2000 as Cow, in Adelaide, as a country rock band. They released three albums under that name. Their musical style is influenced by bands such as Wilco. ''Sunset Posse'' (August 2008) was issued as Cow's second album with Boundy on bass guitar, Carpenter on percussion, Coldwell on guitars, vocals and harmonica, Lehmann on piano, hammond organ and piano accordion, Steve McBeath on percussion, backing vocals and tambo, and Scott on guitars, backing vocals and bass guitar. Seven Stories (band)
Seven Stories was an Australian rock group formed in Adelaide, initially as Tall Stories, in 1986. They were signed to Sony (then CBS Records) and released two studio albums, ''Judges and Bagmen'' (1990) and ''Everything You Want (Nothing That You Need)'' (1993). At the ARIA Music Awards in 1991 they were nominated for Breakthrough Artist – Single for "Sleeping Through Another War" (1990). The group disbanded in 1994. History Seven Stories future members Michael Boundy, Sue Oliver and Andrew Tanner were involved in the Adelaide music scene from the late 1970s. They were sessions musicians at the Good God recording studio, which was run by Rod Boucher and Chris Adams. Triple J
Triple J (stylised in all lowercase) is a government-funded, national Australian Radio in Australia, radio station intended to appeal to listeners of alternative music, which began broadcasting in January 1975. The station also places a greater emphasis on broadcasting music of Australia, Australian content compared to commercial stations. Triple J is a division of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) is the national broadcaster of Australia. It is principally funded by direct grants from the Australian Government and is administered by a government-appointed board. Wilco
Wilco is an American alternative rock band based in Chicago, Illinois. The band was formed in 1994 by the remaining members of alternative country group Uncle Tupelo following singer Jay Farrar's departure. Wilco's lineup changed frequently during its first decade, with only singer Jeff Tweedy and bassist John Stirratt remaining from the original incarnation. Since early 2004, the lineup has been unchanged, consisting of Tweedy, Stirratt, guitarist Nels Cline, multi-instrumentalist Pat Sansone, keyboard player Mikael Jorgensen, and drummer Glenn Kotche. Wilco has released twelve studio albums, a live double album, and four collaborations: three with Billy Bragg and one with The Minus 5. Alto Horn
The tenor horn (British English; alto horn in American English, Althorn in Germany; occasionally referred to as E horn) is a brass instrument in the saxhorn family and is usually pitched in E. It has a bore that is mostly conical, like the flugelhorn and euphonium, and normally uses a deep, cornet-like mouthpiece. It is most commonly used in British brass bands, and Mexican banda music whereas the French horn tends to take the corresponding parts in concert bands and orchestras. Arts South Australia (previously Arts SA) was responsible for managing the South Australian Government's funding for the arts and cultural heritage from about 1996 until late 2018, when it was progressively dismantled, a process complete by early 2019. Midnight Oil (known informally as "The Oils") are an Australian rock band composed of Peter Garrett (vocals, harmonica), Rob Hirst (drums), Jim Moginie (guitar, keyboard) and Martin Rotsey (guitar). The group was formed in Sydney in 1972 by Hirst, Moginie and original bassist Andrew James as Farm: they enlisted Garrett the following year, changed their name in 1976, and hired Rotsey a year later. INXS (a word play, phonetic play on "in excess") were an Australian Rock music, rock band, formed as The Farriss Brothers in 1977 in Sydney, New South Wales. Thebarton
Thebarton ( ), formerly Theberton, on Kaurna land, is an inner-western suburb of Adelaide, South Australia in the City of West Torrens. The suburb is bounded by the River Torrens to the north, Port Road, Adelaide, Port Road and Bonython Park to the east, Kintore Street to the south, and South Road to the west.
