Geography Sun City West is located northwest of downtown Phoenix at (33.661829, −112.358740). It is bordered to the south, west, and north by the city of Surprise. Lizard Acres was a former cattle ranch, subdivision, and train stop situated in Maricopa County, Arizona, near the present day town of Surprise. It has an estimated elevation of above sea level.
