Wayne Taylor (born 15 July 1956) is a South African sports car racing driver and team owner. He won the 1996 and 2005 24 Hours of Daytona, and the 2005 Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series Daytona Prototype drivers' championship. He drove for SunTrust Racing with Max Angelelli. He co-drove in the 2006 International Race of Champions in the United States with Angelelli. Taylor now owns and manages his own team competing in the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Racing career He won the 1986 South African National Drivers Championship. In 1987 he finished fourth in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. He moved to the FIA World Sportscar Championship. Riley Technologies LLC is an American auto racing constructor and team specializing in the design and manufacture of complete race cars, as well as prototype development for racing and manufacturing applications. In 2001, Bob Riley and son Bill, formerly of Riley & Scott, formed Riley Technologies. The company moved their headquarters to Mooresville, North Carolina in late 2006. Daytona Prototypes Riley Technologies was the leading constructor of the Daytona Prototype chassis for the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series. Corvette Daytona Prototype
The Corvette Daytona Prototype is a prototype racing car that began competing in the Rolex series in North America in 2012. It marked Chevrolet's return to Daytona racing as a full constructor, not just as an engine manufacturer. Previously General Motors had competed in Rolex Sports Car Series under the Pontiac brand as well, but shelved that program when they discontinued the Pontiac brand for the 2010 season. The car raced in Grand-Am competition from 2012 through 2013 as a Daytona Prototype and then continued in the P class in the IMSA Tudor SportsCar Championship Series, now called the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. The 2011 Rolex 24 at Daytona ran on Saturday and Sunday January 29–30, 2011 at the Daytona International Speedway was the 49th running of the 24 Hours of Daytona endurance race. 2011 Rolex Sports Car Series
The 2011 Rolex Sports Car Series season was the twelfth season of Grand-Am's premier series. Continental Tire became the official tire partner for Grand-Am, replacing Pirelli after three seasons due to Pirelli's departure to FIA Formula One, GP2 Asia Series and GP2 Series (now FIA Formula 2 Championship) as well as increasing GP3 Series (now FIA Formula 3 Championship) involvement as an official tire partner after FIA World Motor Sport Council meeting verdict event in Geneva, Switzerland on June 24, 2010. Grand-Am Road Racing or Grand-Am was an auto racing sanctioning body that was established in 1999 to organize road racing competitions in North America. Its primary focus was the Rolex Sports Car Series, an endurance racing championship series. It sanctioned five auto racing series. Jordan Taylor (born May 10, 1991) is an American professional racing driver. He currently competes in the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship for Corvette Racing. He won the 2017 24 Hours of Daytona (along with Jeff Gordon, Max Angelelli and brother Ricky Taylor) and the 2017 championship in the Prototype class of the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
