Sul América Esporte Clube, commonly known as Sul América, is a Brazilian football club based in Manaus, Amazonas. They won the Campeonato Amazonense two times and competed in the Copa do Brasil once. History The club was founded on May 1, 1932. They won the Campeonato Amazonense in 1992 and in 1993. Sul América competed in the Copa do Brasil in 1993, when they were eliminated in the First Stage by Rio Branco. Stadium Sul América Esporte Clube play their home games at Estádio Roberto Simonsen, commonly known as ''SESI''. The stadium has a maximum capacity of 5,000 people. Until July 2010, the club played their home games at Vivaldão. Vivaldão had a maximum capacity of 31,000 people. Manaus () is the capital and largest city of the Brazilian state of Amazonas. The Copa do Brasil ( en, Brazil Cup) is a knockout football competition played by 92 teams, representing all 26 Brazilian states plus the Federal District. It is the Brazilian domestic cup and the Brazilian equivalent of the FA Cup, Taça de Portugal, Copa del Rey, Scottish Cup and Copa Argentina. 1993 Copa Do Brasil
The Copa do Brasil 1993 was the 5th staging of the Copa do Brasil. The competition started on March 2, 1993, and concluded on June 3, 1993, with the second leg of the final, held at the Mineirão Stadium in Belo Horizonte, in which Cruzeiro lifted the trophy for the first time with a 2-1 victory over Grêmio. Gílson, of Grêmio, with 8 goals, was the competition's topscorer. Rio Branco Football Club
Rio Branco Football Club, commonly referred to as Rio Branco, is a Brazilian professional club based in Rio Branco, Acre founded on 8 June 1919. It competes in the Campeonato Acreano, the top flight of the Acre state football league. It is the most successful club in Acre, having won a record 47 state titles, 31 of those being won in the amateur era. Rio Branco also took part in the national league in 21 seasons, the most of any club from the state. It is also the first Northern Brazil and the only club from Acre to play in a continental cup, featuring in the 1997 Copa CONMEBOL after winning the Copa Norte in the same year.
