"Suited" is a single by South African singer-songwriter Shekhinah. It was released on 14 July 2017 by Columbia Records and SME Africa as the first single from her debut studio album '' Rose Gold'' (2017). The song was produced by Luke Goliath with assistance from DJ Maphorisa and Shekhinah. It was certified Diamond in South Africa by the Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA). Recording and background "Suited" was produced by Luke Goliath, a record producer from Port Elizabeth who got the opportunity to work with Shekhinah after he put together a beat and gave former ''Idols South Africa'' contestant Loyiso Gijana a listen who then who put Goliath in contact with Shekhinah. After recording the vocals for the song, Shekhinah was contacted by South African record producer and disc jockey DJ Maphorisa, who added his touch to the song. Shekhinah Thandi Donnell (born 2 October 1994), known mononymously as Shekhinah, is a singer-songwriter from Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. Shekhinah was among the Top 32 of M-Net's Season 7 of ''SA Idols'' in 2011 and among the Top 6 of Season 8 of ''SA Idols'' in 2012. Her debut album ''Rose Gold'' was released in October 2017 and certified platinum by RiSA on 31 August 2018. ''Rose Gold'' produced three number-one singles: "Suited"; "Please Mr." and "Different". The 24th Annual South African Music Awards was held at Sun City, in the North West on June 2, 2018. The list of nominees was announced on April 19, 2018 at Birchwood Hotel in Ekurhuleni. It is a member of the Times Media Group, under Entertainment Logistics Services (ELS). The company provides a weekly top 10 airplay chart, which is available for viewing by the general public online. A top 100 is available for subscribed users of the company's website. The first top 10 airplay chart under the EMA was issued for May 21, 2013, with its first number one single being " Blurred Lines" by Robin Thicke featuring T.I. and Pharrell Williams. Afrobeats
Afrobeats (not to be confused with Afrobeat or Afroswing), or Afro-pop or Afro-fusion (or Afropop or Afrofusion), is an umbrella term to describe popular music from West Africa and the diaspora that initially developed in Nigeria, Ghana, and the UK in the 2000s and 2010s. Afrobeats is less of a style per se, and more of a descriptor for the fusion of sounds flowing out of Ghana and Nigeria. Genres such as hiplife, jùjú music, highlife and naija beats, among others, were amalgamated under the 'Afrobeats' umbrella. Afrobeats is primarily produced in Lagos, Accra, and London. Oluwatosin Ajibade (born 19 July 1991), better known by his stage name Mr Eazi, is a Nigerian-born, Ghana-based singer. He is a pioneer of Banku music, a fusion of sound he describes as a mixture of Ghanaian highlife and Nigerian chord progressions and patterns.
