Suhaag (1979 Film)
''Suhaag'' is a 1979 Indian Hindi-language action drama film directed by Manmohan Desai, and written by Kader Khan, Prayag Raj and K.K. Shukla. The movie stars Shashi Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Rekha and Parveen Babi in lead roles, with Amjad Khan, Nirupa Roy, Kader Khan, Ranjeet and Jeevan in supporting roles. The music was composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal. A huge box office success, the film became the highest-grossing film of 1979. The film was remade in Telugu as '' Satyam Sivam'' with N. T. Manmohan Desai
Manmohan Desai (26 February 1937 – 1 March 1994) was an Indian film producer and director. He was one of the most successful filmmaker of the 70s and 80s. Desai is now considered one of most influential film director of Bollywood and a pioneer of making masala film. Family background Manmohan Desai was of Gujarati ancestry. His father, Kikubhai Desai, was an Indian film producer and owner of Paramount Studios (later Filmalaya) from 1931 to 1941. His productions, mainly stunt films, included ''Circus Queen'', ''Golden Gang'', and ''Sheikh Challi''. Manmohan Desai's elder brother, Subhash Desai, became a producer in the 1950s and gave Manmohan his first break in the Hindi film ''Chhalia'' (1960). Navaratri is an annual Hindu festival observed in the honour of the goddess Durga. Anwar Hussain (born 1 February 1949), known popularly by his first name Anwar, is an Indian playback singer who rose to prominence in the Hindi playback industry because of the uncanny resemblance of his voice with that of singer Mohammed Rafi. Shailendra Singh is an Indian playback singer and actor. He sang several Hindi and a few Marathi songs during the late 1970s and early 1980s. He was very close to Mehmood Ali. Early life Shailendra Singh was born on 4 October 1952 in Mumbai, India to a Punjabi family.
