Ioan Silviu Suciu (born 24 November 1977 in Sibiu) is a retired Romanian artistic gymnast. His best event was the pommel horse. Suciu De Sus
Suciu de Sus ( hu, Felsőszőcs) is a commune in Maramureș County, Transylvania, Romania. It is composed of three villages: Larga (''Tágfalva''), Suciu de Jos (''Alsószőcs''), and Suciu de Sus. The commune lies on the banks of the river Suciu. It is located in the southern part of the county, on the border with Bistrița-Năsăud County and near the border with Cluj County. It is situated at a distance of from the town of Târgu Lăpuș and from Baia Mare, the seat of Maramureș County. Suciu de Sus is traversed by county road DJ171, which starts in Târgu Lăpuș and leads to Târlișua commune in Bistrița-Năsăud County; the border between the two counties is marked by a tall wayside stone cross, built in 2019. In 2011, the commune had 3,868 residents. Of those, 91.13% were Romanians, and 4.52% Roma. 89.3% were Romanian Orthodox, 4.34% Greek-Catholic, and 1.94% Pentecostal. Vasile Suciu (bishop)
Vasile Suciu (13 January 1873, Kopacsel, Fogaras County – 25 January 1935, Blaj) was a Romanian Greek-Catholic Metropolitan bishop of the Archdiocese of Făgăraș and Alba Iulia, considered to be the most important theologian of the Greek-Catholic Church in Transylvania. After completing high school in Blaj, he pursued his theological studies in Rome at the ''Propaganda Fide'', obtaining Ph.D.s in Philosophy (1894) and Theology (1898). In 1919, he was elected honorary member of the Romanian Academy. On 1 January 1920, Vasile Suciu was appointed Metropolitan, with approval from the Vatican, and with consent from King Ferdinand I of Romania. Sergiu Suciu (born 8 May 1990) is a Romanian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Italian club Trento. Club career Sergiu moved to Italy with his parents at the age of 13 and soon became affiliated with Torino under club president Franco Cimminelli in 2003. However, due to lack of Italian residency he was unable to play in any official matches for some time. After several years with the youth team, he stood out as one of the best players at the prestigious Torneo di Viareggio in 2009, scoring a brace against Bologna. After making the bench several times for the senior side, he made his Serie A debut for Torino on 31 May 2009 in a game against A.S. Mark Suciu (pronounced Soo-Choo) (Born August 3, 1992) is an American professional skateboarder from Saratoga, CA, based out of New York City. In 2021, Suciu was named ''Thrasher'''s Skater of the Year. Early life and education Mark Suciu was born on August 3, 1992 and grew up less than an hour south from San Francisco in Saratoga, California. Suciu has a brother and their father is from Romania. His father attended The University of California, Berkeley where he graduated with a Ph.D. in Engineering. Lucreția Suciu-Rudow (September 3, 1859 – March 5, 1900) was a Romanian poet from Austria-Hungary. She was born in Oradea. Her father Petre was a Romanian Orthodox priest active in the church school system in Oradea and a protopope in Beliu, who later settled in Ucuriș. Her mother Maria was a poet. The family home at Ucuriș hosted a small literary circle attended by George Coșbuc, Gheorghe Bogdan-Duică and Aurel Popovici. Lucreția, a cultivated woman who knew French, German and Hungarian, made her debut in 1884 in '' Familia'', with the poem "Suvenir" ("Souvenir"). She regularly published poems in the magazine until 1895. In 1889, she published her collected poems in a single volume printed at Sibiu, also publishing poems in ''Tribuna'' and a translation of Gotthold Ephraim Lessing's ''Laocoön''. Ioan Suciu
Ioan Suciu (December 4, 1907 – June 27, 1953) was a Romanian bishop of the Greek-Catholic Church, born into a clerical family in Blaj. He studied in Rome, Italy first at Sant'Atanasio and then at the ''Pontificium Institutum Internationale Angelicum'', the future Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas, ''Angelicum'' where after six years of study he received a Doctorate in Sacred Theology on 29 November 1931, and was ordained to the priesthood. He was consecrated Auxiliary Bishop of Oradea in 1940. Arrested in 1948 by the authorities of the new Communist regime that outlawed the church, he was taken first to Dragoslavele Monastery, then to . Vasile-Daniel Suciu (born 7 November 1980) is a Romanian politician. A member of the Social Democratic Party (PSD), he has represented Bistrița-Năsăud County in the Chamber of Deputies since 2012. Biography Born in Bistrița, he attended a local primary school from 1987 to 1995, followed by the Andrei Mureșanu National College from 1995 to 1999. He then enrolled in the law faculty at the Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, earning a degree in political science in 2003.
