Suchitra Sen
Suchitra Sen ( ; born as Roma Dasgupta (; 6 April 1931 – 17 January 2014) was an Indian actress who worked in Bengali and Hindi cinema. The movies in which she was paired opposite Uttam Kumar became classics in the history of Bengali cinema. Sen was the first Indian actress to receive an award at an international film festival when, at the 1963 Moscow International Film Festival, she won the Silver Prize for Best Actress for '' Saat Pake Bandha''. In 1972, she was awarded the Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award in India. From 1979 on, she retreated from public life and shunned all forms of public contact; for this she is often compared to Greta Garbo. In 2005, she refused the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the highest cinematic award in India, to stay out of the public eye. Bimal Roy
Bimal Roy (12 July 1909 – 8 January 1966) was an Indian film director. He is particularly noted for his realistic and socialistic films such as ''Do Bigha Zamin'', ''Parineeta (1953 film), Parineeta'', ''Biraj Bahu'', ''Devdas (1955 film), Devdas'', ''Madhumati'', ''Sujata (1959 film), Sujata'', ''Parakh (1960 film), Parakh'' and ''Bandini (1963 film), Bandini'', making him an important director of Bollywood, Hindi cinema. Saat Pake Bandha (1963 Film)
''Saat Pake Bandha'' is a Bengali romantic film starring Soumitra Chatterjee, Suchitra Sen, Pahari Sanyal and Tarun Kumar. Directed by Ajoy Kar, it was a box office success upon its release. The movie was remade in 1963 in Telugu as ''Vivaha Bandham'', in 1974 in Hindi as ''Kora Kagaz'' and in Tamil as '' Lalitha'' in 1976. Plot Professor Sukhendu Dutta ( Soumitra Chatterjee), a well-educated poor orphan, who lives with his aunt in a small apartment in Kolkata. Along with the regular job in the university, he also earns his living by private tuition. He met Archana Basu ( Suchitra Sen), a well-educated woman of rich family background in a private party thrown in honour of a student of Sukhendu. After that, they fell in love and got married. ''Aandhi'' () is a 1975 Indian political drama film starring Sanjeev Kumar and Suchitra Sen, and directed by Gulzar. At the time it was alleged that the film was based on the life of the then-Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and her relationship with her estranged husband, but in reality, only the look was inspired by the politician Tarkeshwari Sinha and Indira Gandhi. The story is based on a chance meeting of an estranged couple after several years, when wife Aarti Devi, now a leading politician happens to stay in the hotel run by her husband during an election campaign. Belkuchi ( bn, বেলকুচি) is an upazila, or subdistrict of Sirajganj district in the Division of Rajshahi, Bangladesh. Geography Belkuchi is located at . It has 42,413 households and a total area of . Suchitra Ramadurai, known by the mononym Suchitra, is an Indian radio jockey, popular playback singer, songwriter, composer, voice artist, dubbing artist and film actress. She has sung in multiple languages including Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Telugu. Early life Suchitra was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, as the daughter of Ramadurai and Padmaja.
