Such Gold
Such Gold is an American punk rock band from Rochester, New York, United States, currently consisting of Ben Kotin on guitar and vocals, Nate Derby on guitar, Jon Markson on bass and vocals and Matt Covey on drums. History Such Gold formed officially in 2009, and self-released ''Demo 2009'' in the Spring of that year. The band signed to Mightier Than Sword Records in June 2009 and released a CD EP/7” titled “Stand Tall” in August 2009. In Spring 2010 Such Gold announced signing to 6131 Records and recorded their new CD EP/12”, titled “Pedestals” ; “Pedestals” was released digitally in September 2010, and physically in November 2010. A series of split 7”s were announced in early 2011, including a split with Into It. Over It., released in May 2011 and a split with A Loss for Words, released November 2011. ''Misadventures'' is the full-length debut album by pop punk/hardcore band Such Gold. The album was released on August 14, 2012 through Razor and Tie Records. The album was praised by critics and fans a like and is a major stepping stone for the upcoming band, and it was a more mature album compared to the band's previous releases; Pedestals, Stand Tall, and the split with Into It Over It. The album was released on 12" records, compact discs, as well as digital download, and the first single "Storyteller" was also released on a 7" inch record, with the B-side being "Locked Out of the Magic Theater." To promote the album the band went on a headlining tour with Mixtapes and Citizen. Shai Hulud is an American metalcore band formed in Pompano Beach, Florida, in 1995, and later based in Poughkeepsie, New York. The band is named after the giant sandworms in Frank Herbert's novel ''Dune''. The two mainstay members of Shai Hulud are considered to be Matt Fox (guitar), who writes most of the band's musical and lyrical output, and Matt Fletcher (originally guitar, now bass), who assists in writing. A Loss for Words (formerly Last Ride) was an American pop punk band from Abington, Massachusetts. History Early years (1999–2004) Matty Arsenault and Danny Poulin from Lions Lions started a new band, Last Ride Pony Rides and, in 1999, it would soon feature Kreg Dudley, Chris Murphy, and Evan Cordeiro. The band had five names listed in a notebook before they changed it, and one of the names was A Loss for Words. The band would change its name to A Loss for Words after attending a minister's service. Mike Adams was soon drafted to play bass after the original bass player had no desire to play in front of people. Marc Dangora, from MAFFUMPH, joined in 2004. Bill Stevenson (musician)
John William Stevenson (born September 10, 1963) is an American musician and record producer. He is the drummer, main songwriter, and the only constant member of the California punk rock group Descendents since its inception. In late December 1981, he played a few concerts with the hardcore punk band Black Flag because their drummer ROBO was detained in England after a tour there. He went on to record with Black Flag on several of their albums until 1985, including the highly influential ''My War''. After this he focused his attention on Descendents and played with the band until lead singer Milo Aukerman left in 1987. After Milo's departure, Bill and the other members of Descendents, Karl Alvarez and Stephen Egerton, recruited singer Dave Smalley of Dag Nasty, moved to Fort Collins, Colorado, and formed All. The Blasting Room
The Blasting Room is a recording studio in Fort Collins, Colorado. Founded by members of the punk rock band All in 1994, it is owned and operated by musician Bill Stevenson (Descendents, Black Flag, All, Only Crime) and Jason Livermore. The studio is known for recording and producing many punk rock bands, with Stevenson and Livermore serving as in-house audio engineers and record producers. In July 1994, the members of All relocated from Brookfield, Missouri to Fort Collins. Using money from their recent recording contract with Interscope Records, they designed and began construction of The Blasting Room with the help of guitarist Stephen Egerton's father, Dan O' Reilly. The studio opened four months later, featuring a two-inch analog 24-track tape machine, a mixing console manufactured by Solid State Logic, and a variety of outboard gear.
