Subbaetic System
The Subbaetic or Sub-Baetic System ( es, Sistema Subbético or ''Cordillera Subbética'') is one of the three systems of mountain ranges of the Baetic System in the southern Iberian Peninsula. Highest point high Peña de la Cruz in Sierra Arana. Its northern limit includes the valley of the Guadalquivir in its western part. Description The Subbaetic System runs to the north of the Cordillera Penibética from Cape Trafalgar in Cádiz Province across Andalusia reaching into the Region of Murcia. The highest peaks reach heights between 1,500m and well over 2,000 m. Towards the east of the Sierra Sur de Jaén, east of Martos, another subsystem begins, the Prebaetic System, an offshoot of the Subbaetic System stretching further northeastwards. The materials that compose this eastern sector were formed in a relatively shallow sea. Sierra Sur De Jaén
The Sierra Sur de Jaén (Southern Range of Jaén) is a mountain range that is part of the central belt of the Baetic System, Andalusia, Spain. Its name derives from its location in the southwestern part of Jaén Province. The highest summit in the range is 1,872 m high Pico Pandera; 1,722 m high Cerro de la Cruz is another notable peak. This range gives its name to an administrative comarca in the region, the Sierra Sur de Jaén Comarca, as well as to the wine of the area, the Sierra Sur de Jaén (DO). Geography The Sierra Sur de Jaén is located in the area where the Subbaetic System is overlapping with the Prebaetic System. The latter begins east of Martos. The Sierra Sur includes the subranges of Sierra de la Pandera, the Sierra de Ventisqueros, the Sierra del Trigo and the Sierra Caracolera, among others. Priego De Córdoba
Priego de Córdoba is a town and municipality of Spain located in the autonomous community of Andalusia. It lies on the southeasternmost end of the province of Córdoba, near the headwater of the Guadajoz, and on the northern slope of the Sierra de Priego. The population in 2015 was 22,936. History Priego is a village found on the ''Ruta del Califato'' (trade route of the Caliphate).
