Stéphane Charbonneau
Stéphane Charbonneau (born June 27, 1970) is a Canadian retired professional ice hockey right winger. He played 2 games in the National Hockey League during the 1991–92 season. The rest of his career, which lasted from 1991 to 1997, was spent in the minor leagues. Early life Charbonneau was born in Sainte-Adèle, Quebec. He played junior hockey with the Hull Olympiques, Shawinigan Cataractes, and Chicoutimi Saguenéens. Career During his career, Charbonneau played for the Quebec Nordiques of the National Hockey League (NHL). After retiring, he worked as the head varsity ice hockey coach at Garnet Valley High School Garnet Valley High School is a four-year public school in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania, U.S.A. Winger (ice Hockey)
Winger, in the game of ice hockey, is a forward position of a player whose primary zone of play is along the outer playing areas. They typically flank the centre forward. Originally the name was given to forward players who went up and down the sides of the rink. Wingers generally have the least defensive responsibilities out of any position on the ice, however they are still tasked with defensive duties such as forechecking duties or covering the point in the defensive zone. Nowadays, there are different types of wingers in the game — out-and-out goal scorers, checkers who disrupt the opponents, and forwards who work along the boards and in the corners.
