Stuart Erwin
Stuart Erwin (February 14, 1903 – December 21, 1967) was an American actor of stage, film, and television. Early years Erwin was born in Squaw Valley, Fresno County, California. He attended Porterville High School and the University of California. Career Erwin began acting in college in the 1920s, having first appeared on stage. From there, he acted in stock theater in Los Angeles. Film career He broke into films in 1928 in ''Mother Knows Best''. In 1934, he was cast as Joe Palooka in the film '' Palooka''. In 1932, he co-starred with Bing Crosby in the comedy ''The Big Broadcast'', where he played Texas oil tycoon Leslie McWhinney. In 1936, he was cast in ''Pigskin Parade'', for which he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. In 1940, he played Howie Newsome, the dairy delivery vendor, in the film adaptation of ''Our Town'', based on the Thornton Wilder play. Yokuts Valley (formerly, Squaw Valley) is a census-designated place located in Fresno County, California, in the United States. As of the 2010 census, the CDP had a total population of 3,162, up from 2,691 at the 2000 census. Yokuts Valley is located north-northeast of Orange Cove and east of Fresno, at an elevation of . Name Yokuts Valley is named after either the surrounding basin or a narrow valley that connects it to the San Joaquin Valley. The basin may have originally been named "Woman's Land", after a depression in a rock overlooking the valley that resembles a woman's moccasin print. By 1873, non-native hunters had given it the name "Squaw Valley", referring to its population of native women. ''Bambi'' is a 1942 American animated drama film directed by David Hand (supervising a team of sequence directors), produced by Walt Disney and based on the 1923 book ''Bambi, a Life in the Woods'' by Austrian author and hunter Felix Salten. The film was released by RKO Radio Pictures on August 13, 1942, and is the fifth Disney animated feature film. The main characters are Bambi, a white-tailed deer; his parents (the Great Prince of the forest and his unnamed mother); his friends Thumper (a pink-nosed rabbit); and Flower (a skunk); and his childhood friend and future mate, Faline. ''The Stu Erwin Show'' (also known as ''Trouble with Father'') is an American sitcom which aired on ABC from 1950 to 1955. Only four of the series’ five seasons on the network included new episodes; the 1953–54 season consisted entirely of reruns. Synopsis The series' star, Stuart Erwin, played a bumbling high school principal named Stu Erwin.
