Strong's Island
Strong's Island is an island in the Bay of Exploits, just off the coast of Newfoundland in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. The island measures 0.45 square miles and is connected to New World Island by a 150 yard long causeway called Island Drive. Strong's Island is a part of the town of Summerford. Bay Of Exploits
The Bay of Exploits is a large bay in the northeast of Newfoundland. It extends from the mouth of the Exploits River and opens on to Notre Dame Bay to the north. It is approximately 1,000 square kilometers (386 sq. miles) in size and contains over 30 islands of which New World Island is the largest. New World Island
New World Island is an island in Notre Dame Bay, just off the coast of Newfoundland (island), Newfoundland in the Canada, Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. The island is connected to Newfoundland by a causeway. The prominent communities on the island are Summerford, Newfoundland and Labrador, Summerford, Virgin Arm-Carter's Cove, Fairbanks-Hillgrade, Moreton's Harbour, Newville, Newfoundland and Labrador, Newville, Cobb's Arm, Newfoundland and Labrador, Cobb's Arm and Herring Neck. Summerford is a small town on the central coast of Newfoundland in Canada. It is located just off Route 340, along Route 344. The ''Town of Summerford'' (formerly the ''Farmer’s Arm'' circa 1906) lies mostly on New World Island in Notre Dame Bay just off the coast of the island of Newfoundland. Strong's Island, which is connected to New World Island by Island Drive, is also a part of the town. Summerford had a population of 805 in 2021, down from 906 in the Canada 2016 Census.
