"Strobelite Honey" is a 1991 single by hip-hop duo, Black Sheep. The single was written by William McLean and Dres (rapper), and was the duo's third release from their A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing album. "Stobelight Honey" was the duo's second entry on the US R&B chart, where it went peaked at #36 on the R&B sales chart and #80 on the Hot 100. Black Sheep is an American hip hop duo from Queens, New York, United States, composed of Andres "Dres" Vargas Titus and William "Mista Lawnge" McLean. The duo was from New York but met as teenagers in Sanford, North Carolina, where both of their families relocated. The group was part of the Native Tongues collective, which included the Jungle Brothers, A Tribe Called Quest, and De La Soul. ''A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing'' is the debut studio album from American hip hop group Black Sheep, released October 22, 1991, on Mercury Records. The album peaked at number 30 on the ''Billboard'' 200 chart. By April 1992, it was certified gold in sales by the RIAA, after sales exceeding 500,000 copies in the United States. Release and reception The album peaked at thirty on the U.S. ''Billboard'' 200 and reached the fifteenth spot on the R&B Albums chart. It was certified gold in April 1992. East Coast Hip Hop
East Coast hip hop is a regional subgenre of hip hop music that originated in New York City during the 1970s. Hip hop is recognized to have originated and evolved first in the Bronx, New York City. In contrast to other styles, East Coast hip hop music has prioritized complex lyrics for attentive listening rather than beats for dancing. Andres "Dres" Vargas-Titus (born March 18, 1967) is an American hip hop artist. He is known for being the lead rapper of the alternative hip hop duo Black Sheep, before recording as a solo artist. Career Dres formed Black Sheep in 1989 with Mista Lawnge. Their first appearance together was on De La Soul's 1991 album ''De La Soul Is Dead''. Dres was featured on the track "Fanatic of the B Word". David Morales has remixed and produced over 500 releases for artists including Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Spice Girls, Eric Clapton, Seal, Pet Shop Boys, U2, Donna Summer, Whitney Houston, Selena, and Jamiroquai. It was released on March 18, 1980 as the lead single from the debut album '' S.O.S.'' through Tabu Records, three months before the album's release. The S.O.S. Band (sometimes written as S.O.S. Band; abbreviation for Sounds of Success) is an American R&B and electro-funk group who gained fame in the 1980s. They are best known for the songs "Take Your Time (Do It Right)", "Just Be Good to Me", and " The Finest".
