Strange Kind Of Love
''Strange Kind of Love'' is the second studio album by Scottish band Love and Money, released in 1988. The album's lead single " Halleluiah Man" reached number 63 in the UK Singles Chart and number 75 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100. The following singles, " Strange Kind of Love", " Jocelyn Square" and " Up Escalator" were all released in 1989 and reached number 45, number 51 and number 79 respectively in the UK Singles Chart. ''Strange Kind of Love'' was reissued by Cherry Red Records in 2010. The reissue includes six demo recordings from 1987 plus new sleeve notes written by Katz, with recollections from band members James Grant and Paul McGeechan. Jeff Porcaro
Jeffrey Thomas Porcaro (; April 1, 1954 – August 5, 1992) was an American drummer, songwriter, and record producer. He is best known for his work with the rock band Toto but is one of the most recorded session musicians in history, working on hundreds of albums and thousands of sessions. While already an established studio player in the 1970s, he came to prominence in the United States as the drummer on the Steely Dan album ''Katy Lied''. AllMusic has characterized him as "arguably the most highly regarded studio drummer in rock from the mid-'70s to the early '90s" and says that "it is no exaggeration to say that the sound of mainstream pop/rock drumming in the 1980s was, to a large extent, the sound of Jeff Porcaro." Rick Derringer
Rick Derringer (born Richard Dean Zehringer; August 5, 1947) is an American guitarist, vocalist, producer and songwriter. He came to prominence in the 1960s as founding member of his band, the McCoys. Their debut single, "Hang on Sloopy", was a number-one hit in 1965 and became a classic of the garage rock era. The McCoys then had seven songs that charted in the top 100, including versions of "Fever" and "Come on Let’s Go". In 1974, Derringer reached the US top 30 with his own song, "Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo". Dave Bargeron
David W. Bargeron (born September 6, 1942) is an American trombonist and tuba player who was a member of the jazz-rock group Blood, Sweat & Tears. Career Bargeron was lead trombonist with Clark Terry's Big Band and played bass trombone and tuba with Doc Severinsen's Band between 1968 and 1970. He joined Blood, Sweat, and Tears in 1970 after Jerry Hyman departed and first appeared on the album '' B, S & T; 4''. Ronnie Cuber
Ronald Edward Cuber (December 25, 1941 – October 7, 2022) was an American jazz saxophonist. He also played in Latin, pop, rock, and blues sessions. In addition to his primary instrument, baritone sax, he played tenor sax, soprano sax, clarinet, and flute, the latter on an album by Eddie Palmieri as well as on his own recordings. As a leader, Cuber was known for hard bop and Latin jazz. As a side man, he had played with B. B. King, Paul Simon, and Eric Clapton. Cuber can be heard on '' Freeze Frame'' by the J. Louis William Marini Jr. (born May 13, 1945), known as "Blue Lou" Marini, is an American saxophonist, arranger, and composer. He is best known for his work in jazz, rock, blues, and soul music, as well as his association with The Blues Brothers. Early life Marini was born in Charleston, South Carolina. His parents were Italian immigrants from the region of Trentino. He graduated from Fairless High School in Navarre, Ohio. Lani Groves (born 1980 in Bloemfontein) is a South African musician and actor. She began playing the cello and singing at the age of five years. Groves performs regularly at musical events across the Gauteng region in South Africa. In 2004, Groves played a bar-lady in ''The Res'' by Franz Marx, after which she played various characters for South African television programs such as ''Society'', ''7de Laan'', and ''Kompleks'' for the KykNet channel. James Grant (musician)
James Grant (born 8 October 1964) is a Scottish musician, singer, and songwriter. He grew up in Glasgow's Castlemilk district and still resides in the city. Friends Again James Grant's music career began in 1982 as songwriter and guitarist in the new wave band Friends Again, alongside Chris Thomson, later of the Bathers. The group had minor hit singles with "State of Art", "Sunkissed" and "Honey at the Core". They released a self-titled EP in 1983 which reached No. 59 in the UK and then recorded their debut album, ''Trapped & Unwrapped'', in 1984.
