''Strange'' is a six-part American comic book Limited series (comics), limited series published by Marvel Comics under their Marvel Knights imprint (trade name), imprint. Written by J. Michael Straczynski and Samm Barnes, with artwork by Brandon Peterson, ''Strange'' is a re-imagining of Doctor Strange's origin. Synopsis While in Tibet, a medical student named Stephen Strange meets a sickly, apparently mute young man named Wong (comics), Wong. The Underwater Album
''Metalocalypse'' is an American adult animated television series, created by Brendon Small and Tommy Blacha, which premiered on August 6, 2006, followed by a musical one-hour special, '' Metalocalypse: The Doomstar Requiem'', on October 27, 2013 on Adult Swim. The television program centers on the larger-than-life melodic death metal band Dethklok, and often portrays dark and macabre content, including such subjects as violence, death, and the drawbacks of fame, with hyperbolic black comedy. The show was widely heralded as both a parody and a pastiche of heavy metal culture. The music, written by guitarist/creator Brendon Small, was credited to the band and featured in most episodes. The animation was often carefully synced to the music with the chord positions and fingering of the guitar parts shown in some detail. The show was cancelled in 2013. ''Pink Flag'' is the debut studio album by English rock band Wire. It was released in November 1977 by Harvest Records. The album gained Wire a cult following within independent and post-punk music upon its initial release, later growing to be highly influential on many other musicians. Critical reception Reviewing in 1978 for ''The Village Voice'', Robert Christgau called ''Pink Flag'' a "punk suite", praised its "simultaneous rawness and detachment" and detected a rock-and-roll irony similar to, but "much grimmer and more frightening" than, the Ramones. In a 1978 Trouser Press review, Ira Robbins said that "Wire ushminimalism to new heights" and said the band "dredges up images of...beat poetry--short fragments of impressions set to music." ''Almost Alice: Music Inspired by the Motion Picture'' is a 2010 concept album of various artists' music inspired by Tim Burton's film, ''Alice in Wonderland''. The album is also notable for featuring songs that were inspired from quotes directly from Lewis Carroll's original 1865 novel ''Alice's Adventures in Wonderland''. For example, both "The Lobster Quadrille" (by Franz Ferdinand) and " You Are Old, Father William" (by They Might Be Giants) are both word-for-word performances of poems from the original ''Alice'' as quoted by the Mock Turtle (the former) and Alice herself to the Caterpillar (the latter). Furthermore, "Very Good Advice" by Robert Smith is a cover of Kathryn Beaumont's "Very Good Advice" from Disney's 1951 animated adaptation of ''Alice in Wonderland''. ''Kojak Variety'' is a 1995 album by Elvis Costello, composed of cover songs written by others. Rhino Records reissued an expanded, double-CD in 2004 containing a bonus disc. Background Costello said in the liner notes this was a "record of some of my favourite songs performed with some of my favourite musicians." but that he didn't want to record songs that were too familiar. Costello had searched independent record shops: Potter's Music in Richmond, Probe in Liverpool, Rock On in Camden Town, and many American thrift stores and pawn shops to discover albums that he previously had only known from singles or compilations. Costello said he made his best discoveries in what he called "the greatest record collecting store in the world", Village Music in Mill Valley, California. ''Power to the People'' is an album by the American rock band Poison, released on June 13, 2000 on the band's independent label, Cyanide Music. It marked the return of the original lineup, together for the first time since 1991's '' Swallow This Live'' with the return of C.C. DeVille who replaced Blues Saraceno. The album is a part studio, part live album consisting of five newly recorded studio tracks and 12 live tracks from Poison's successful 1999–2000 greatest hits reunion tour. The album was re-packaged and re-released in 2006 as '' Great Big Hits Live! Bootleg'' without the studio tracks or drum and guitar solos. ''She's Got You'' is an EP released by American country music singer, Patsy Cline on April 20, 1962. It was the second EP Cline released in that year. ''She's Got You'' contained two new songs: the title track and "Strange." The title track was released as a single in January 1962 and was climbing the charts during the time of this EP's release. Its B-side was "Strange." The EP would serve as the temporary source of acquiring Cline's new single until the album containing it, '' Sentimentally Yours,'' would be released that August. The other two songs included on ''She's Got You'' were cuts from her 1961 album: "The Wayward Wind" and "I Love You So Much it Hurts."
