Stoyanov ( bg, Стоянов), feminine Stoyanova ( bg, Стоянова) is a Bulgarian surname. Sometimes, when abroad, the spelling is changed, for instance, to Stoianov or Estoyanoff. A migration of Jewish families with the name Stoyanov/Stoianov travelled through north out of Bulgaria. The 19th century saw numerous Ashkenazic Jewish Stoyanov families hide in Russian Orthodoxy while remaining strictly observant within their own homes. Nikola Stoyanov
Nikola Stoyanov Mitov ( bg, Никола Стоянов Митов) (February 3, 1874 – June 12, 1967) was a Bulgarian scientist, economist and financier. He was in charge of the Bulgarian Government Debt Directorate for much of the interwar period and as such, he led the prolonged negotiations over the country's foreign debt. The agreements helped stabilise the country's national currency and contributed to the economic growth Bulgaria experienced prior to World War II. Between 1929 and 1944, Stoyanov was editor-in-chief of the authoritative journal of the Bulgarian Economic Society. He was also a prominent member of various organisations of Macedonian immigrants to Bulgaria and one of the founders of the Macedonian Scientific Institute, as well as its chairman between 1938 and 1945. Stoyanov was the first Bulgarian author whose scientific work on astronomy was published abroad. Petar Stoyanov
Petar Stefanov Stojanov ( bg, Петър Стефанов Стоянов ; born 25 May 1952) is a Bulgarian politician who was President of Bulgaria from 1997 to 2002. He was elected as a candidate of the Union of Democratic Forces (UDF). He did not succeed in the next presidential elections and after leaving office refrained from politics for a while, but, later became an MP in 2005 and was Chairman of UDF from 1 October 2005 to 22 May 2007. Ivan Stoyanov ( bg, Иван Стоянов; born 24 July 1983) is a Bulgarian football coach and a former player who played as a winger or attacking midfielder. He is the manager of Sliven. Career Sliven & Stuttgart Stoyanov started his career in his home town Sliven in local team OFC Sliven 2000. In 2005, he signed a contract with German side VfB Stuttgart, but only played one league game for the club before returning to Sliven in May 2006. In 2007–08 season with his goals Stoyanov helped the team gain promotion to the first division in Bulgaria. He scored 16 goals in 15 matches. Kostadin Stoyanov ( bg, Костадин Стоянов; born 2 May 1986) is a Bulgarian retired footballer who played as defender. Stoyanov is a central defender. Career Stoyanov began his football career playing for Sliven, before joined Chernomorets Burgas. Stoyanov made his B PFG debut on 21 August 2004, in Chernomorets's 1–0 defeat to Vihren Sandanski. In the summer of 2005 he joined Zagorets Nova Zagora. In June 2007 he moved to OFC Sliven 2000. After a two good seasons in Sliven, on 24 June 2009, he signed a contract for 3 years with CSKA Sofia. Dimitar Kinov Stoyanov ( bg, Димитър Кинов Стоянов) (born 17 May 1983 in Sofia) is a Bulgarian and European Union, EU politician. While still a student of Law at Sofia University, Dimitar Stoyanov joined the Attack (political party), Attack party headed by Volen Siderov. Paraskev Ivanchov Stoyanov ( bg, Параскев Стоянов; ro, Paraschiv Stoian; January 30, 1871November 14, 1941) was a surgeon, anarchist, historian and professor. He is considered one of the fathers of Bulgarian and Romanian anarchism. Biography The son of Ivancho Stoyanov, a Bulgarian active militant for national liberation from Roussé, and Gabriela von Walter, a German woman, Paraskev was born on January 30, 1871 in the city of Giurgiu, Romania, where his father had fled to escape persecution from the Ottomans.
