Storm FC is an American soccer club based in Pembroke Pines, Florida member of the NPSL playing in the South Region - Sunshine Conference. The club was founded in 2013 and currently competes against Jacksonville Armada U23, Miami United, Orlando Kraze United SC, Miami Fusion, Naples United, Beaches FC and Boca Raton FC in the Sunshine Conference. Central Broward Park & Broward County Stadium, formerly Central Broward Regional Park and Central Broward Stadium, is a large county park in Lauderhill, Florida, and the only dedicated cricket stadium in the United States. 2018 NPSL Season
The 2018 National Premier Soccer League season was part of the 106th season of FIFA-sanctioned soccer in the United States and the 16th season of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL). Elm City Express was the defending champion. The 2018 NPSL champion qualifies to play for the 2019 Hank Steinbrecher Cup organized by the United States Adult Soccer Association. The NPSL has elected to use results of the 2018 league season to determine which NPSL clubs qualify for the 2019 U.S. Open Cup. The United States Soccer Federation has not yet determined how many berths for the U.S. Open Cup will be awarded to NPSL clubs. Pembroke Pines Charter High School is a charter school in the United States. It is funded and administered by the City of Pembroke Pines, as opposed to the Broward County School Board. In 2005, PPCHS received an A grade from the State of Florida. In 2007, PPCHS was named National Charter School of the year. In 2014, PPCHS received an A grade from the State of Florida. Lauderhill, officially the City of Lauderhill, is a city in Broward County, Florida, United States. As of the 2020 census,the city's population was 74,482. It is a principal city of the Miami metropolitan area, which was home to an estimated 6,012,331 people in 2015. Etymology The development that eventually came to be known as Lauderhill was originally to be named "Sunnydale", but William Safire, a friend of the developer, Herbert Sadkin, convinced him to change his mind. Safire felt that "Sunnydale" sounded like a neighborhood in Brooklyn. Sadkin said there were no hills in the new town, to which Safire replied, "There are probably no dales in Lauderdale, either!"
