Storm is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character was created by writer Len Wein and artist Dave Cockrum, first appearing in ''Giant-Size X-Men'' #1 (May 1975). Descended from a long line of African witch-priestesses, Storm is a member of a fictional subspecies of humans born with Superpower (ability), superhuman abilities known as Mutant (Marvel Comics), mutants. She is able to control the weather and atmosphere and is considered to be one of the most powerful mutants on the planet, and one of the most powerful beings in the Marvel Universe. Stormwatch is a fictional superhero team appearing in American comic books published by WildStorm, which later became an imprint of DC Comics. Created by Jim Lee, the team first appeared in ''Stormwatch'' #1 (March 1993). ''G.I. Joe: America's Elite'' is a series of comic books set in the G.I. Joe universe which began publication in June 2005. The events of the series begin one year after the conclusion of '' G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero'' (vol. 2), and features the G.I. Joe Team re-activated with a reduced roster. The ''Special Missions'' series features reserve specialists who are activated as needed, and expands on plots set up in the main title. Storm Shadow is an Anglo-French low-observable, long-range, air-launched cruise missile developed since 1994 by Matra and British Aerospace, and now manufactured by MBDA. Storm Shadow is the weapon's British appellation. In French service, it is called SCALP-EG (which stands for "''Système de Croisière Autonome à Longue Portée – Emploi Général''"; English: "General Purpose Long-Range Cruise Missile"). ''Storm'' is a soft science fiction/fantasy comic book series originally (and for most albums) drawn by Don Lawrence. It tells the adventures of an astronaut who accidentally gets lost in time. The series originated in Dutch, but has since been translated into many other languages. Publication history The storyline was originally conceived as a framework for stories in the "Deep World" revolving around the character Commander Grek. An episode (in which Commander Grek turns into a fish man) was written in 1976 by Vince Wernham and drawn by Don Lawrence, but it was not picked up by Dutch publisher Oberon. The story was later reworked by Philip "Saul" Dunn, now with the astronaut Storm as the main character. This version did get published by Oberon, serialized in the comics magazine '' Eppo'' in 1977. Crestwood Publications, also known as Feature Publications, was a magazine publisher that also published comic books from the 1940s through the 1960s. Its title ''Prize Comics'' contained what is considered the first ongoing horror comic-book feature, Dick Briefer's "Frankenstein". The Legion of Super-Heroes is a fictional superhero team appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. Created by writer Otto Binder and artist Al Plastino, the Legion is a group of superpowered beings living in the 30th and 31st centuries of the , and first appears in '' Adventure Comics'' #247 (April 1958). Initially, the team was closely associated with the original Superboy character ( Superman when he was a teenager), and was portrayed as a group of time travelers.
