Stop (Spice Girls Song)
"Stop" is a song by English girl group the Spice Girls from their second studio album, '' Spiceworld'' (1997). The group co-wrote the song with its producers, Paul Wilson and Andy Watkins of the Absolute production duo, during the filming of the film '' Spice World''. "Stop" is a dance-pop song with influences of Motown and blue-eyed soul, and features guitar and brass. Its lyrics are about the group's frustrations with being overworked by their management. The music video, directed by James Brown and filmed in Ireland, features the Spice Girls in a 1950s working-class street playing children's games with young girls. The song received mostly positive reviews for its Motown influences and production. ''Stop!'' is the debut studio album by English singer-songwriter Sam Brown, released on 8 June 1988 by A&M Records. It includes Brown's biggest and best-known single, the title track " Stop!". Background Produced by Sam Brown, her brother Pete Brown, Pete Smith, Danny Schogger, and John Madden, the album was recorded at the Power Plant in London, with then-Pink Floyd member David Gilmour's guitar parts on " This Feeling" and "I'll Be in Love" being recorded at Greene Street Studios in New York City. The track "Merry Go Round" has lyrics slightly adapted from W. H. Davies poem "Leisure". ''Stop'' is a hard rock / R&B album by the first incarnation of the Eric Burdon Band, whose line-up consisted of Burdon, John Sterling, Kim Kesterson and Terry Ryan. The band was formed in 1971, after Burdon left his previous band War to cut an album with Jimmy Witherspoon. They recorded the 1971 album '' Guilty!'' and then, without Witherspoon, this album. Not released until July 1975, it featured no hit single, but did enjoy some American chart success, reaching both US and Canadian album charts. The distinctive red and white gatefold sleeve, together with the plain white inner-sleeve, are die-cut octagonally in the shape of a traffic stop sign. Plot A young married couple are exposed to radiation during a meltdown at Japan's Fukushima nuclear reactor. The young woman is pregnant and she and her husband must decide whether or not to keep the baby. Their assumption that the child will be disabled is certainly realistic, and they both gradually succumb to madness.
