Stirling Wolves
Stirling County RFC is a Scottish rugby union club based in Stirling. The club plays its home games at Bridgehaugh. It runs a number of sides. The professional men's side competes in the as the Stirling Wolves, the women's side competes in the . History During the season of 2004–05, Stirling County celebrated its centenary. Rugby has its origins in the town in the 1870s, resulting in the formation of Stirling HSFP in the latter part of the nineteenth century. The F.P. club joined the Scottish Rugby Union in 1904, hence the celebration of the centenary this season. In 1925, Bridge of Allan Rugby Club was founded with both clubs uniting in 1946 to form Stirling County. While the team of 1959–60 went undefeated, it was not until the formation of the national leagues in the 1970s that Stirling had a springboard to success. The Scottish Rugby Union (SRU; gd, Aonadh Rugbaidh na h-Alba) is the governing body of rugby union in Scotland. Styled as Scottish Rugby, it is the second oldest Rugby Union, having been founded in 1873. Angus Fraser (rugby Union)
Angus Fraser (born 9 December 1999 in Dundee, Scotland) is a Scottish rugby union player. He plays as a Hooker for Glasgow Warriors. Rugby Union career Amateur career He played for Dundee HSFP, before the club merged with Morgan Academy RFC in 2021. He was a recipient of the MacPhail Scholarship for the 2017-18 season, and as result had 5 months in South Africa at Stellenbosch University to aid his rugby development. Professional career He was given a place in the Scottish Rugby Academy for the 2020-21 season and assigned to Glasgow Warriors. There was no Super 6 tournament that season, due to the Coronavirus pandemic. However the following season he remained in the academy assigned to Glasgow Warriors, but he was also assigned to Stirling Wolves. Earlston Sevens
Earlston Sevens is an annual rugby sevens event held by Earlston RFC, in Earlston, Scotland. This was one of a group of Sevens tournaments instated after the First World War extending the original Borders Spring Circuit. The Earlston Sevens began in 1923. The Earlston Sevens is part of the Kings of the Sevens championship run by the Border League. 2019's Earlston Sevens was played on 5 May 2019. It was won by Watsonians. Scottish Premiership (rugby)
The Scottish Premiership (referred to as the Tennents Premiership for sponsorship reasons) is an amateur league competition for Scottish rugby union clubs. First held in 1973, it is the top division of the Scottish League Championship. The most recent (2019) champions are Ayr, while the most successful club is Hawick, who have won the competition twelve times. Ten clubs contest the league, with the bottom club relegated to the Scottish National League Division One and second-bottom club involved in a play-off. The top level of club rugby in Scotland are the two professional teams – Glasgow Warriors and Edinburgh Rugby – that play in the United Rugby Championship. They assign their players to the clubs below in a Pro-Draft; so that they can still play when not used by the professional sides. Matthew Cameron Smith (born 5 October 1996 in Scotland) is a Scottish rugby union player who plays for Glasgow High Kelvinside. He previously played for Glasgow Warriors and Edinburgh Rugby at the Flanker position. Rugby Union career Amateur career Smith was part of the Stirling County youth set-up. He won man of the match in the National Youth League Cup final when Stirling Country won the tournament in 2013. They had previously won the same tournament in 2011 and 2012. Andrew Davidson (born 7 November 1996) is a Scottish rugby union player at the Lock position. He currently plays for Gloucester having previously played for Glasgow Warriors, London Scottish, Newcastle Falcons and Edinburgh Rugby. Davidson was a product of the Scottish Rugby Academy. Bruce Flockhart (born 23 August 1997) is a Scottish former professional rugby union player who played for Glasgow Warriors. His usual position is at the Number Eight position. He has previously been loaned out from Glasgow Warriors and the Scottish Rugby Academy to the French side Stade Niçois for the 2017-18 season. Brandon Terry Thomson (born 7 March 1995) is a South African rugby union player, currently playing with Scottish Pro14 side Glasgow Warriors. His regular position is fly-half. Adam Nicol (born 2 July 1997 in Aberdeen, Scotland) is a Scotland U20 international rugby union player who plays for Jersey Reds at the Tighthead Prop position. He previously played for Glasgow Warriors and Stirling County. Glasgow Warriors are a professional rugby union side from Scotland. The team plays in the United Rugby Championship league and in the European Professional Club Rugby tournaments. Marcus Holden
Stephen Easmon Davies (born 16 July 1960) is an English former footballer who played as a midfielder for Congleton Town, Port Vale, Northwich Victoria, Altrincham, and South Liverpool. His son is rugby international Marcus Holden. Career Davies played for Congleton Town, which was formed in 1901, (North West Counties League), before joining John Rudge's Port Vale in December 1987. He came on as a substitute five times, and started one game, in the 1987–88 Third Division campaign. He did not feature at Vale Park in the 1988–89 season, and was instead loaned out to Conference club Northwich Victoria in a three-month deal in February 1989.
