Sticker Association Football Club is a football club based in Sticker, Cornwall. They are currently members of the . History The first time a club represented the village of Sticker was in 1911, who played until 1914 when World War I started. After the War the club reformed in 1920 and joined the St. Austell & District League until 1929 when the club folded again. The club reformed again in 1933 and played in the St. Austell & District League until the start of World War II in 1939. Sticker, Cornwall
Sticker ( kw, Stekyer) is a former mining village in south Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It lies in the parish of St Mewan. The nearest town is St Austell three miles (4.5 km) to the north-east. Great Hewas Mine In 1785, Sticker was described as "a new place"J. Wesley''Journal'', Vol. 4, p. 305 (1867) and it was a settlement for workers in the Great Hewas Mine on its western outskirts. Great Hewas was worked in the 18th century, a 45-inch Boulton & Watt pumping engine was installed in the 1790s. By the 19th century, the mine employed over 250 people, producing not only tin, but copper, lead, and some silver. Two smaller mines to the west, Ventonwyn and Hewas Water, worked alongside Great Hewas. The last of these mines ceased production in 1926, though the chimney of Ventonwyn engine house is still a local landmark. Duchy League
The Duchy League is a football competition based in the eastern half of Cornwall, United Kingdom, but also includes a few sides from over the border in Devon. The League was formed in 1965 as a merger of the Liskeard & District League and the St. Austell & District League. It has three divisions headed by the Duchy League Premier Division, which sits at level 13 of the English football league system. It is a feeder to the East Cornwall League. In 2014–15, Padstow United won the Premier Division, and earned promotion to the East Cornwall League. The Cornwall Combination League is a football competition based in the western half of Cornwall, England, formed in 1959. The current league sponsors are drinks retailers LWC. The league has a single division of 20 clubs, being larger than any league below step 6 in the English football league system. The Champion club may apply for promotion to the St Piran Football League, West Division. The bottom clubs may be relegated to one of the level 13 leagues of the English football league system – normally the Trelawny League. The East Cornwall Premier League (ECPL) is a football competition based in Cornwall and west Devon, England, in the United Kingdom. The league sits at level 12 of the English football league system and consists of 18 clubs. Due to a sponsorship arrangement, the league is currently known as the RRL East Cornwall Premier League. The South West Peninsula League (SWPL) is a football competition in England, which was formed in 2007 from the merger of the Devon County League and the South Western League. The league is restricted to clubs based in Cornwall, Devon and West Dorset. The league consists of two Premier Divisions (East and West), which are ranked at Step 6 in the National League System. Until 2019–20, there was a single Premier Division at Step 6, and two divisions at Step 7 (Division One West and Division One East).
