Steven Pitt (footballer)
Steven Pitt (born 22 July 1973) is a former Australian rules football player. Pitt played with the Melbourne Football Club and Collingwood Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He also played for Norwood Football Club in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL). Early life Pitt began playing senior SANFL football for Norwood in his late teens. As the SANFL is semi-professional, Pitt had a day job a police officer, but he continued to play senior and reserves football for Norwood. Collingwood Despite having an average 1995 season for Norwood, playing the majority of his matches in the reserves, Pitt was selected in the 1995 AFL draft by Collingwood with the 77th and final selection in the Draft. At the age of 22, Collingwood's selection of Pitt was described as "a gamble" by ''The Age'' newspaper. Norwood Football Club
Norwood Football Club, nicknamed the Redlegs, is an Australian rules football club competing in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL) in the state of South Australia. Its home ground is Coopers Stadium (Norwood Oval), which is often referred to as "The Parade". The Sandringham Football Club, nicknamed The Zebras, is an Australian rules football club based in Melbourne which was formed in 1929 and plays in the Victorian Football League (VFL) which was formerly called the Victorian Football Association (VFA). The Riverland Football League is an Australian rules football league located in South Australia's Riverland region. The league has two divisions - the first division is for the main towns of the Riverland and the second division, called the Riverland Independent Football League, is for the minor towns. The Renmark Rovers Football Club is an Australian rules football club located in Renmark, South Australia. The club formed in 1923 as a result of a merger between the Fairview Rovers and the Renmark Town FC. They compete in the Riverland Football League (RFL) where they have won 21 premierships, the most recent in 2021. The club, formed in 1909, celebrated their centennial in June 2009. In 2019, the A grade team were premiers breaking a 10 year drought. Josh Vater was playing coach with Matt Woolford captaining the team. The Tea Tree Gully District Football Club is an Australian rules football club located in Banksia Park, South Australia. Tea Tree Gully currently plays in the Adelaide Footy League, formerly known as the "South Australian Amateur Football League" (SAAFL). History The club was originally part of " Modbury F.C." in 1862, but it soon split apart from them to form their own institution. Tea Tree played its first game against the "Adelaidians" in a paddock near Modbury on 30 August 1862. It ended when the "Adelaidians" scored their second goal and won the game. Best And Fairest
In Australian sport, the best and fairest award recognises the player(s) adjudged to have had the best performance in a game or over a season for a given sporting club or competition. The awards are sometimes dependent on not receiving a suspension for misconduct or breaching the rules during that season. In the Australian Football League (AFL), the Brownlow Medal is awarded to the player who, provided he has not been suspended during the season, receives the most votes from the umpires for being the Fairest and Best player in games during the home and away season. In each game, the umpires award three votes to the player they judge to be the best afield in that game, two votes to the second-best player and one vote to the third-best player. The votes are counted at a gala function on the Monday preceding the Grand Final.
