Steven Mark Drench (born 11 September 1985) is an English association football, footballer who plays as a goalkeeper (association football), goalkeeper for Chorley F.C., Chorley. Club career Drench began his career with the Blackburn Rovers F.C., Blackburn Rovers youth system. Following an injury to Ryan Robinson (English footballer), Ryan Robinson, he joined Conference National team Morecambe F.C., Morecambe on loan (sports), loan as goalkeeping cover in November 2005. The loan was extended for a second month in December and to the end of the 2005–06 in English football, 2005–06 season in February. Following his release by Blackburn, Drench signed for Morecambe permanently in the summer of 2006. Ryan Robinson (born 13 October 1982) is an English footballer who plays as a goalkeeper. Career Born in Kendal, Cumbria, Robinson began his career with Blackburn Rovers, before being released in 2001, aged 20. He joined Southend United, where he got his first taste of first-team action, playing in two Football League games. He was released by Southend after one year, and has since played for a number of Conference clubs – Morecambe, Southport and, since 2006, Forest Green. Robinson moved near to his family home when he joined Morecambe. He quickly made the goalkeeper jersey his own through a series of excellent displays. In professional association football, a free transfer, also known as a Bosman transfer, involves a professional association football club releasing a player when the player's contract has expired or made available just before the end of the contract. The player can then go on to sign for any club offering a contract to them.
