Steven Alexander Wright (born December 6, 1955) is an American stand-up comedian, actor, writer, and film producer. He is known for his distinctly lethargic voice and slow, deadpan delivery of ironic, philosophical and sometimes nonsensical jokes, paraprosdokians, non sequiturs, anti-humor, and one-liners with contrived situations. Wright was ranked as the 15th Greatest Comedian by ''Rolling Stone'' in its 2017 list of the 50 Greatest Stand-up Comics. Steve Wright (American Football, Born 1942)
Stephen Thomas Wright (born July 17, 1942) is a former American football offensive tackle in the National Football League (NFL) for five different teams. He also played for the Chicago Fire of the WFL in 1974. He played college football at the University of Alabama. He never started a game for Alabama, but was drafted in the fifth round of the 1964 draft, by the Green Bay Packers along with the New York Jets in the eighth round; although New York offered a blank check, the prospect of playing for Green proved to factor in his decision. Wright played in 101 games in nine seasons in the NFL, but never started. He is the author of ''I'd Rather be Wright: Memoirs of an Itinerant Tackle'' (1974, with William Gildea and Kenneth Turan), a fly-on-the wall look at the pro football world of the late 1960s and early 1970s. Stephen Hough Wright (born April 8, 1959) is a former American football offensive tackle in the National Football League for the Dallas Cowboys, Indianapolis Colts and Los Angeles Raiders. He was also a member of the Oakland Invaders of the United States Football League. He played college football at Northern Iowa and then played eleven professional seasons with four teams from 1981–1992. He also appeared on '' Survivor: Redemption Island'' where he placed tenth and became the third jury member. Early years Wright attended Wayzata High School, where he played football, basketball, track, and hockey. He was an All-American in the shot put and discus throw. Steven Richard Wright (born August 30, 1984) is an American professional baseball pitcher who is a free agent. Wright has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Boston Red Sox, having made his MLB debut in 2013; he was an All-Star in 2016. He is known for his knuckleball pitch. Wright received two World Series rings in 2013 and 2018 as a member of the Red Sox for being on the active roster, but did not play in the playoffs. Amateur baseball career Born in Torrance, California, Wright attended Valley View High School in Moreno Valley, California and the University of Hawaii. He presented '' Steve Wright in the Afternoon'' for 12 years on BBC Radio 1 and 23 years on BBC Radio 2, two of the BBC's national radio stations, the latter being most popular station in the United Kingdom, ending on 30 September 2022. Steven Gerald James Wright (born 24 April 1958) is an English serial killer, also known as the Suffolk Strangler and the Ipswich Ripper. He is serving life imprisonment for the murder of five women who worked in Ipswich, Suffolk. The killings took place during the final months of 2006, and Wright was found guilty in February 2008. Early life Steve Wright was born in the Norfolk village of Erpingham, the second of four children of military policeman Conrad and veterinary nurse Patricia, on 24 April 1958. Steve Wright (1950 – January 16, 2017) was an American bass guitarist best known for his work with The Greg Kihn Band. A native of El Cerrito, California, Wright had played in a band called Traumatic Experience with El Cerrito natives John Cuniberti and Jimmy Thorsen. After changing their name to Hades Blues Works (later, Hades), they expanded into a quartet with Craig Ferreira in 1970 (he left in 1971). He later joined the Greg Kihn Band with fellow El Cerrito native Larry Lynch. Wright died of a heart attack at UC Davis Hospital in Sacramento, California, in the early hours of January 16, 2017. Stephen Wright (1893 – 15 October 1959) was an English professional footballer who played as a half back in the Football League for Bolton Wanderers, Norwich City and Brighton & Hove Albion. He also played in Ireland for Bohemians, and managed Dundalk to the 1932–33 League of Ireland title. Life and career Wright was born in Leicester in 1893. Alexander Wright (born May 17, 1975) is a German former professional wrestler and professional wrestling promoter. He wrestled professionally in Germany and Japan before signing with World Championship Wrestling (WCW) in 1994. Stephen Carlton Wright (20 December 1947 – 27 December 2015) was an Australian musician and songwriter who has been called Australia's first international pop star. During 1964–69, he was lead singer of Sydney-based rock and roll band the Easybeats, widely regarded as the greatest Australian pop band of the 1960s.
