Stephen Marc Adams (born 25 September 1980) is an English former footballer. Club career Adams began his career as a trainee with Plymouth Argyle, his hometown team, turning professional in August 1998. His first team debut came on 8 December 1998 when he was a second-half substitute (for Mike Heathcote) as Plymouth lost 2–0 away to Brentford in the first round of the Football League Trophy. He had to wait until 6 May 2000 for his league debut, playing in the 2–2 draw away to Mansfield Town. He was an ever-present member of the Argyle side that won the Third Division Championship in 2001–2002 and was rewarded with a new two-year contract at the end of the season. He was also a vital member of the Argyle sides that won the Division Two title in 2003–2004. He went on to make 176 appearances, scoring seven goals for Argyle before moving to Sheffield Wednesday, managed by former Plymouth manager Paul Sturrock, in March 2005 for an undisclosed fee. Steven Rue Adams (born January 16, 1975) is a California-based American bassist and co-founder of San Francisco rock/pop/jam band Animal Liberation Orchestra (ALO) and current bassist for Nicki Bluhm & The Gramblers. In addition to his work with ALO, Steve has toured and recorded with many other musicians. Recording credits include Jack Johnson, Tim Bluhm, Nicki Bluhm, Zach Gill, Forest Sun, John Craigie and Big Light. Stephen Douglas Adams (born May 27, 1951) is a former state treasurer of Tennessee, who served in that position for sixteen years, from 1987 to 2003. Early life and education Adams was born in Cornersville in Marshall County, Tennessee. He attended Austin Peay State University. Career Adams joined the Tennessee Department of Conservation in 1973 and left for the Treasury Department in 1975. Adams was elected Tennessee State Treasurer by the state's General Assembly in 1987, following the appointment of Harlan Mathews to Governor Ned McWherter's cabinet. He continued to be reelected another eight times. He was President of the National Association of State Treasurers from 1997 to 1998. Steve Adams, sometimes known as Stephen Adams, was a miner and member of the Western Federation of Miners (WFM) in the early 1900s. Adams was named as an accomplice in several murders by Harry Orchard, who said that the murders were done at the orders of the WFM leadership. Adams was tried three times for murder, but was never convicted. Adams played a role in events surrounding the murder trials of Western Federation of Miners (WFM) leaders Bill Haywood, Charles Moyer, and George Pettibone, all charged with conspiring to murder former Idaho Governor Frank Steunenberg, allegedly in retaliation of the governor's role in the miner uprising in Coeur d'Alene. The investigations were led by famed Pinkerton agent James McParland.
