Sterling Marlin
Sterling Burton Marlin (born June 30, 1957) is an American semi-retired, professional stock car racing driver. He currently competes part-time JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour, driving the No. 114 for Sterling Marlin Racing. He formerly competed in the NASCAR Cup Series, winning the Daytona 500 in 1994 and 1995. He is the son of late NASCAR driver Coo Coo Marlin. He is married to Paula and has a daughter, Sutherlin, a son, Steadman, a former NASCAR Xfinity Series driver, and a grandson Stirlin who splits a schedule with Sterling in Sterling’s No. 114 Super Late Model. Career Beginnings Marlin attended Spring Hill High School, where he played high school basketball and football, earning the captain status his senior year while he played quarterback and linebacker. The Goodyear 400 is a NASCAR Cup Series race held at Darlington Raceway in Darlington, South Carolina. A race was held in May at the track in 1952, however the event did not become a regular one on the NASCAR schedule until 1957, as a race in the Convertible Division, then known as the Rebel 300. Bristol Motor Speedway, formerly known as Bristol International Raceway and Bristol Raceway, is a NASCAR short track venue located in Bristol, Tennessee. Cheez-It 250
The Cheddar's 300 was a NASCAR Xfinity Series stock car race at Bristol Motor Speedway, the first of two Bristol races on the schedule. The first Busch Series race at Bristol was 150 laps, and was won by Phil Parsons in 1982. The race was not held in 1984. The race increased in length several times since then: it was lengthened to 200 laps in 1985, 250 laps in 1990, and 300 laps in 2006. In 2016, the race format was changed to include two 50-lap heat races and a 200-lap feature for a total of 300 laps, as part of the Xfinity Dash 4 Cash program. In 2017 that format did not return and instead reverted to its 300-lap distance with the new stage format. Stages 1 and 2 were 85 laps each, with stage 3 being the final 130 laps. The race last run as Drive for the Cure 250 presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina is a NASCAR Xfinity Series stock car race that takes place at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina. The 1985 race was extended to , which still stands as the longest race distance run in Xfinity Series history. It is held before the NASCAR Cup Series' Bank of America Roval 400 in the playoffs. In 2018, the race was shifted to run the "Roval" infield road course configuration of Charlotte. With this, the race length was shortened from 300 miles to 200 kilometers (125 miles). Nashville Superspeedway
Nashville Superspeedway is a motor racing complex located in Gladeville, Tennessee, United States (though the track has a Lebanon postal address), about southeast of Nashville. The track was built in 2001 and is currently hosting the Ally 400, a NASCAR Cup Series regular season event, the Tennessee Lottery 250, and the Rackley Roofing 200. It is a concrete oval track 1 miles (2.145 km) long. Nashville Superspeedway is owned by Speedway Motorsports, which acquired the track’s previous owner Dover Motorsports in December 2021. The Tennessee Lottery 250 is a NASCAR Xfinity Series at Nashville Superspeedway. Charlotte Motor Speedway (previously known as Lowe's Motor Speedway from 1999 to 2009) is a motorsport complex located in Concord, North Carolina, outside Charlotte. The complex features a quad oval track that hosts NASCAR racing including the prestigious Coca-Cola 600 on Memorial Day weekend, and the Bank of America Roval 400. The Alsco Uniforms 300 is an annual 300-mile (482.803 km) NASCAR Xfinity Series race held at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina during Memorial Day weekend as a support race for the Coca-Cola 600. The race's origins trace back to 1978, when a it was a NASCAR Late Model Sportsman Series race was held the day before the World 600. In 1982 it became a Busch Series race. The race celebrated its 40th running in 2018, and is considered one of the more popular races on the Xfinity Series schedule. From its inception through 2004, the race was scheduled for Saturday afternoon. In 1985 only, it was held the same day as The Winston.
