Stephen Warfield Gambrill
Stephen Warfield Gambrill (October 2, 1873 – December 19, 1938) was an American politician. Early life Born near Savage, Maryland, to Stephen Gambrill and Kate (Gorman) Gambrill, he attended the common schools and Maryland Agricultural College (now the University of Maryland, College Park. He graduated from the law department of Columbian College (now The George Washington University Law School), Washington, D.C., in 1896, was admitted to the bar in 1897, and practiced in Baltimore, Maryland. In 1900, he married Haddie D. Maryland's 5th congressional district comprises all of Charles, St. Mary's, and Calvert counties, as well as portions of Prince George's and Anne Arundel counties. The Maryland Senate, sometimes referred to as the Maryland State Senate, is the upper house of the General Assembly, the state legislature of the U.S. state of Maryland. Composed of 47 senators elected from an equal number of constituent single-member districts, the Senate is responsible, along with the Maryland House of Delegates, for passage of laws in Maryland, and for confirming executive appointments made by the Governor of Maryland. It evolved from the upper house of the colonial assembly created in 1650 when Maryland was a proprietary colony controlled by Cecilius Calvert. Suitland is an unincorporated community and census designated place (CDP) in Prince George's County, Maryland, United States, approximately one mile (1.6 km) southeast of Washington, D.C.
