Stephen Immerwahr is an American bass guitarist and vocalist best known as a founding member of the slowcore group Codeine. Biography Stephen Immerwahr began his foray into music in 1988, originally serving as an assistant engineer to bands such as Soul Asylum and Living Colour. In 1989, Immerwahr formed Codeine with drummer Chris Brokaw and guitarist John Engle.Strong, Martin C. Slowcore
Slowcore is a subgenre of alternative rock and indie rock. The music of slowcore artists is generally characterized by bleak lyrics, downbeat melodies, slower tempos and minimalist arrangements. Slowcore is often used interchangeably with the term sadcore. Characteristics Slowcore is a fusion genre of indie rock and sadcore, characterized by minimal musical backing, played at extremely slow speeds. Slowcore songs often feature "depressing lyrics", according to Listverse.
