Stephanie Sparks
Stephanie Sparks (born July 18, 1973) is a former on-air personality at The Golf Channel and a former golfer, whose best years in golf came as an amateur. Golfer Sparks was born in Wheeling, West Virginia. From 1992 to 1994, she played golf at Duke University, where she was an All-America. A wrist injury threatened her career early, though, and she was forced to quit the team before graduating in 1996. As an amateur, Sparks won the 1993 Women's Western Amateur, a Women's Eastern Amateur, a West Virginia State Amateur, and the 1992 North and South Women's Amateur at Pinehurst. In 1996, after graduation, Sparks joined the Futures Tour, the LPGA's developmental tour. In 1999, Sparks finally got her LPGA card in a playoff at Q-School. Wheeling, West Virginia
Wheeling is a city in the U.S. state of West Virginia. Curtis Cup
The Curtis Cup is the best known team trophy for women amateur golfers, awarded in the biennial Curtis Cup Match. It is co-organised by the United States Golf Association and The R&A and is contested by teams representing the United States and "Great Britain and Ireland". The same two teams originally contested the Ryder Cup, but unlike that competition, the Curtis Cup has not widened the Great Britain and Ireland team to include all Europeans (nor has the analogous event for amateur men, the Walker Cup). Vincent Robert Cellini (; born June 10, 1959 in Cleveland, Ohio) is an American sports broadcaster for radio and television, currently working at NBA TV and Turner Sports. Early life and career Cellini was a lifeguard at Grovewood, a city pool on the east side of Cleveland. In 1981, Cellini graduated from the College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio, with a bachelor's degree in communications. Cellini played tight end on the college's football team. He set three team records: most touchdowns in a season and in a career, and yards per catch in a season. In 1982, Cellini began working as a sports anchor and reporter at Cleveland's WJW-TV. The Big Break
''The Big Break'' is a reality television program broadcast by the Golf Channel. The show's premise was to award an aspiring professional golfer exemptions into selected events or full-season exemptions on lower-level tours. The series debuted on October 6, 2003. Traditionally, the show airs at 9 p.m. Eastern time/6 p.m. Pacific time every Monday or Tuesday during its run. Tom Abbott replaced Vince Cellini as the male host at Big Break Sandals Resorts in the spring of 2010. Stephanie Sparks stayed on as female host. Sparks ended her run on the show when Michele Tafoya appeared as co-host for Big Break NFL in 2013. A nightly half-hour show, ''Golf Central'' features news and highlights from the major golf tours and events of the world, in addition to on-site reports from tournaments.
