Stephan Braunfels
Stephan Braunfels (born August 1, 1950) is a German architect. Biography Stephan Braunfels was born on August 1, 1950. He completed his studies at the Technical University of Munich in 1975 and established his office in Munich in 1978. He is a grandson of the composer Walter Braunfels. Early career Braunfels' first competition success along with his plans and critiques on urban design concepts for Munich formed the basis for the exhibition "Designs for Munich" shown in 1987 at the German Architecture Museum in Frankfurt am Main. As an advisor to the City of Dresden in 1991-1993, Braunfels designed a master plan for the reconstruction of the historic city centre of Dresden. Braunfels opened his Berlin office in 1996. Ãœberlingen
Ãœberlingen is a German city on the northern shore of Lake Constance (Bodensee) in Baden-Württemberg near the border with Switzerland. After the city of Friedrichshafen, it is the second largest city in the Bodenseekreis (district), and a central point for the outlying communities. Since 1 January 1993, Ãœberlingen has been categorized as a large district city (Große Kreisstadt). History The history of Ãœberlingen dates back to Roman times, but a variety of settlements pre-dated Roman occupation. Stone age settlements, discovered along the shoreline of Lake Constance, document that the lake supported several dozen thriving communities of 50–100 individuals. Balanstraße
The Balanstraße is a street in Munich which begins at the Rosenheimer Platz and runs in a southerly direction through the districts Haidhausen, Giesing and Ramersdorf to the district of Fasangarten. It ends at the border road directly on the city boundary to the municipality Neubiberg in the district of Munich. Description The Balanstraße is, except for a small section between the Rosenheimer Platz and the Metzstraße where it is a one-way street about 30 m long, passable in both directions with one lane in each direction. Between Fasangartenstraße and Grenzstraße it only has one lane for both directions. Bicycle paths run almost continuously along it. Deutscher Kritikerpreis was a cultural prize awarded annually by the Association of German Critics (Verband der Deutschen Kritiker e.V.) from 1951 to 2009. The paper is published six days a week; the masthead of the Saturday edition is held in light blue. The European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award is a prize given biennially by the European Union and the Fundació Mies van der Rohe, Barcelona, 'to acknowledge and reward quality architectural production in Europe'. The Prize was created in 1987 through an equal partnership among the European Commission, the European Parliament and the Fundació Mies van der Rohe. The award is open to all the works completed in Europe within the two-year period before the granting of the prize. Nominations are submitted by independent experts, the national architecture associations and the advisory committee of the Prize, and then evaluated by a jury organized for each cycle. Paul Gustav Emil Löbe (14 December 1875 – 3 August 1967) was a German politician of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD), a member and president of the Reichstag of the Weimar Republic, and member of the Bundestag of West Germany. He died in Bonn in 1967. Childhood through World War I Paul Löbe was the first of four children born to the carpenter Heinrich Löbe (1843–1898) and his wife Pauline, née Leuschner (1852–1947) in Liegnitz (since 1945 Legnica in Poland) in the Prussian province of Silesia.
