Stepan Maryanyan
Stepan Mailovich Maryanyan (russian: Степан Маилович Марянян; born 21 September 1991) is a Russian Greco-Roman wrestler of Armenian descent. He came in first place at the 2013 Wrestling World Cup and was runner-up at the 2015 Russian Nationals Greco-Roman. During the 2015 European Games held in Baku, Azerbaijan, Maryanyan won a gold medal for 59 kg Greco-Roman wrestling. This was the first ever gold for Russia at the European Games. 2018 World Champion at 63 kilos. 2015 European Games
The 2015 European Games, also known as Baku 2015 or Baku 2015 European Games ( az, Bakı 2015 Avropa Oyunları), were the inaugural edition of the European Games, an international multi-sport event for athletes representing the National Olympic Committees (NOCs) of the European Olympic Committees. It took place in Baku, Azerbaijan, from 12 to 28 June 2015, and featured almost 6,000 athletes from 50 countries competing in 30 sports, including 15 summer Olympic and 2 non-Olympic sports. Host selection Baku was awarded the right to host the first European Games at the 41st EOC General Assembly in Rome, on 8 December 2012. Wrestling World Cup is an international wrestling competition among teams representing member nations of the United World Wrestling (UWW) the sport's global governing body. The cups have been conducted by FILA (the UWW predecessor) every year since the 1973 tournament. The World Cup began as a dual-meet competition for the top teams on each continent, but now features the top teams in the rankings of the previous year's world championships.
