Step On My Old Size Nines
"Step on My Old Size Nines" is the third single from Welsh rock band Stereophonics' third album, '' Just Enough Education to Perform'' (2001). The song is track four on the album. It was released on 24 September 2001, reaching number 16 on the UK Singles Chart and number 26 in Ireland. A live acoustic version recorded at the Grand Opera House in York, England, is on CD2 of the "Step on My Old Size Nines" single. Background Lead singer Kelly Jones began writing the song in May 2000. While spending a night with his friends in Birmingham, Jones played several of his new songs, during which one of his friends asked if he had written a song in open G tuning. Right before Stereophonics went to Monnow Valley Studios in Wales for a recording session, Jones wrote the entire song with this tuning in 10 minutes and recorded a demo of "Step on My Old Size Nines" at his house. Stereophonics
Stereophonics are a Welsh rock band formed in 1992 in the village of Cwmaman in the Cynon Valley, Wales. The band consists of Kelly Jones (lead vocals, lead guitar, keyboards), Richard Jones (bass guitar, harmonica, backing vocals), Adam Zindani (rhythm guitar, backing vocals), Jamie Morrison (drums, percussion) and touring member Tony Kirkham (keyboards). Stuart James Cable (19 May 1970 – 7 June 2010) was a Welsh rock drummer and broadcaster, best known as the original drummer for the band Stereophonics. Richard Jones (born 23 May 1974) is a Welsh bassist, pianist and backing vocalist from Cwmaman, Wales, for the Welsh post-Britpop rock band Stereophonics, playing alongside Kelly Jones (no relation), Adam Zindani and Jamie Morrison. The Rudolph Wurlitzer Company, usually referred to as simply Wurlitzer, is an American company started in Cincinnati in 1853 by German immigrant (Franz) Rudolph Wurlitzer.
