Stefanie Vögele (born 10 March 1990) is a former professional Swiss tennis player. She achieved a career-high singles ranking of world No. 42 on 11 November 2013. Her highest WTA ranking in doubles is 100, which she reached on 5 January 2015. Over her career, she has defeated top ten players Sloane Stephens and Caroline Wozniacki. 2009 US Open – Women's Singles
Kim Clijsters defeated Caroline Wozniacki in the final, 7–5, 6–3 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2009 US Open. It was her second US Open title and her second major singles title overall. She became the first unseeded player and wild card to win the title, and the first mother to win a major since Evonne Goolagong in 1980. Following her win, she appeared at 19th in the rankings. This was the first time since the 2007 Australian Open where Clijsters participated in a major, as she was contesting just her third tournament since coming out of retirement. Sloane Stephens (born March 20, 1993) is an American professional tennis player. She achieved a career-best ranking of world No. 3 after Wimbledon in 2018. Stephens was the 2017 US Open champion, and has won seven WTA Tour singles titles in total. Born to athletic parents with backgrounds in collegiate swimming and professional American football, Stephens was introduced to tennis at the club across the street from her house in Fresno, California. WTA Rankings
The WTA rankings are the ratings defined by the Women's Tennis Association, introduced in November 1975. Iga Świątek is the current world No. 1. Ranking method The WTA rankings are based on a rolling 52-week, cumulative system. A player's ranking is determined by her results at a maximum of 16 tournaments for singles and 11 for doubles and points are awarded based on how far a player advances in a tournament. The basis for calculating a player's ranking are those tournaments that yield the highest ranking points during the rolling 52-week period with the condition that they must include points from the 4 Grand Slams, the 4 Premier Mandatory tournaments and the WTA Finals.
